Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

Oooooooohhhhhhh, ok, gotcha. So the black spool has the thickest inductor? I guess that's why me and my wholly inadequate thing get along with it so well

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

I had two and the red one had a thicker inductor that was tapered compared to the thin inductor purple one. Also on the pic for the spools on ali it shows that the black one has a much thicker inductor than the rest in the group pic. Also Amo sells thin and thick versions of spools. Not sure why th...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

Picked up the Kawa 34mm spool for 30bux after sale, which is the same as Ruke. 5g without bearing, 6g with. Holds plenty of line for my power BFS. Initial impressions compared to AMO spool. Bearing is less noisy, feels more controlled and not as fast. Casted a KO Jackall Piku whatever, weighs about...

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's

My Gekkabijin with a few changes. I added a Steez CT cc cap, SV103 drag star and a 90mm handle with new style, larger knobs. It also has a Ray's deep spool that only weighs. 2 grams more than the stock spool. It's one of two dedicated power finesse reels now. It is spooled with 20# braid and sits o...

Re: Daiwa Kage walleye 761MLXS

I have talked with tackle trap on that rod and heard it was a great model. I fished the 7-6 ML and 7-1 ML in the tatula line whichi is very similar and they are very sensitive rods. You'll like it. Ooooohhh! My 7'1" ML Tatula was my favourite spinning rod! Sounds like I need this one. Thanks for th...

Daiwa Kage walleye 761MLXS

Has anyone used this rod...? 7'6" medium light extra fast. I'm curious about the sensitivity when using bottom contact techniques, as well as how it casts lures in its weight range, primarily in the lower half of its range.

Thanks in advance!

Re: It's time for a 5" fluke rod (casting rod)

Hoping someone with the 803c and 853c that use it for flukes can chime and would love suggestions on other rods 7'2" or under too. Thank you for your assistance in my never ending journey of owning too much fishing stuff! I'm still on the lookout for the perfect fluke rod myself. The issue is that ...

Re: Daiwa magnet swapping?

I have a spare T3 palm plate that is just screaming for me to pull the magnets out of and put them in something else, but I don't know which reel I would want to put them in...

Re: Which is your favorite knot?

I use a knot a friend showed me. It's a single uni with the fluoro and an Alberto with the braid. Tied this way, both tag ends exit the knot towards the reel rather than one of them facing away from the reel and potentially causing the knot to hang up on a guide while casting. He doesn't have a name...

Re: Steez CT SV 70 vs Alphas CT SV 70

Throw a CT spool in a Pixy https://i.imgur.com/PgiTCbA.jpg Where do you source the spacers to make a ct spool fit? Not to speak out of turn, but there's a lot of parts other than spacers needed to make this happen. I forget all of them but you need the longer Alphas CT pinion which I think you can ...

Re: Spinning Setup -pick 4 rods for 4+ techniques

Personally, and mostly because I run braid to leader and don't want to retie a whole leader, I would have a dedicated dropshot rod. Shakeyhead and Ned rig on the same rod. Weightless senko and Texas rig on the same rod. Neko would also get its own rod, and if you're up north, toss hair jigs on the ...
