Re: Is anyone else dissapointed in Icast '17?

Where are you guys seeing the new stuff? I don't do facebook so I think I missed a lot of the announcements that were not in that Bassmaster slideshow.

Re: Quick review Kuying Teton 6-0 ULS Trout rod

I yearn for a STC-63UL with every fiber of my being, but there isnt enough fiber to get me to spend $300 on a used rod. I think I am going to have to look to getting a custom to find the BFS rod of my dreams. Look into Major Craft, there are plenty of BFS Corzzas and Go Emotions around at under 120...

Re: Shorter rods and kayak fishing

I also fish out of a Propel 10 and even a 5'6" perch rod lets me get a fish over the bow if I lean forward just a little. My kayak rods for bass range from 6' to 6'8", but what they all have in common is short butt sections. The two spinning rods are customs from Smallie Stix out of Redding PA. The ...

Re: Rods and reels getting wet?

I fish a good bit of brackish water out of my kayak and I have just come to terms with my gear all getting a little wet and salty. What I do is keep a 5g jug of water (the kind with a spigot) in my car and give everything a rinse as soon as I land. The other month I saw a guy do the same, but with a...

Re: Budget Sweet Spot... Casting Reels

While I have a few reels over the $200 mark, I have been on a an older Daiwa buying kick of late. I picked up an Alphas Finesse Custom for like $115 shipped and honestly like it more than the $200 NIB SV105s I got earlier in the year. Same thing with a used PX68 I got for just under $200. I think I ...

Re: Suggestions for case to protect one piece rods

Smead seems to have come up with the better options. The only thing I can add is I've shipped many rods using this pre slit foam pipe insulation around the blanks before final packaging to keep them from rattling around within the shipping container. It's easily available, cheap and virtually weigh...

Re: Quick review Kuying Teton 6-0 ULS Trout rod

I have a Teton UL casting rod as well and am also liking it. http://i.imgur.com/Dy1i7pKl.jpg It balances well with a PX68 and with 4lb mono, it will cast a 1/16oz inline spinner further than my thumb can control it. Stepping up to 6lb mono and a 1/8oz inline, I can zip them as far as my 7' UL spinni...

"Masgouf" is the national dish of Iraqi, which is carp grilled over open flame, then finished on the coals. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ejov4RsoZPo/maxresdefault.jpg https://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/0b/75/b3/8b/masgouf-ktan-fish-big.jpg I have never had carp cooked that way, but it is grea...

Re: Orochi XXX

I skimmed the thread a bit, but didn't see much mention of the Black Themis, has anyone had time with one yet? My current finesse casting rod is a Phenix PHX-C682, which I really like, except for the reel-seat. It starts cramping my hand after an hour or three and I can't find a way to grip the reel...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

I think it would help to fix the inductor but once done there is no going back I have thought about switching out the spring to one so stiff that it effectivly becomes a fixed inductor, but I cant figure out what I need to buy. My main BFS reel is an Alphas Finesse Custom, which has a fixed inducto...
