Carbon Drag on Calcutta 50B

Has anyone installed a carbon drag on these reels. I tried to do a few of mine with no success. If I put the main CF drag washer in, the reel feels too tight. I believe the washers are rubbing against the right side plate. The CF washer is thicker than the original drag washer. If I take out one of ...

I think semper fi handles are a better buy.
You can dress them how you want for much cheaper.
Add the their bearings and your knobs become smmmooooooth....

Re: Cumara 6'8"medhvy black

This is one of my favorite rods too.
I use mine for Texas rigs and spinnerbaits.
It balances very good with just about any reel.
I also have cores on mine.
Also lightweight and sensitive.

Re: I'm going backwards

I have a older shimano aerlex 1000 that is similar to a ss700. I'll pull it out a use it once in a while when feeling nostalgic.

Chart/black for stained water
Sexy shad for clearer water
these two colors are what I throw 80% of the time for squarebills.

Re: I'm going backwards

I have had a couple of the ss700 and the ones from Thailand felt better than the Japan built ones. They just felt more smooth and a little thighter. I believe the JDM version comes with a rosewood handle as apposed to the plastic handle knob. I'm not for certain since I've only seem one JDM ss700 an...

Sweet collection.
To post our reels, that means we'd have to take them off the rods.
That's a lot of work.

Rakutan Global is a good place to buy.
They only take paypal. No credit cards.
Just make sure you are buying the correct reel as the descriptions are very vague.

Re: After market handle

You can get a better deal if you just contact Benson at Semper Fi. He can work out details of the handle and usually give you a deal. He should have several styles and lengths to choose from. The Basszone handles are very nice too. A much cleaner look and matches both round and low profile reels. Al...

Semper fi makes some good handles. You can choose different color accents to dress it up.

Re: Deep Crankin Reel

Get a core 100 and put a chronarch D5 gear set in it.
There you go. A cranking reel a little over 6 oz.

Trilene XL.
Best mono for spinning reels I've used.
Tried others and kept going back to it.

Re: Flipped the pads again

Polarized glasses are one thing I never leave the dock without.

To me, it's an essential part of fishing just like a rod or reel.
I always keep an extra pair in the boat.

The same goes for a hat or cap.
