Re: Shimano alternatives?
I have nothing negative to say about the other brands, but just remember, "the grass isn't always greener." 90% of your reels are $120 or less...and you are comparing them to some reels that cost much more...If you are concerned at all about weight, adding 1-2oz. may not be comfortable. E7=7.6 oz. S...

Re: Tackle and Fishing Stuff Storage at Home Ideas
Its pretty out of control (just keeps adding up) and doesn't even include the rods/reels, which are in my office upstairs....And I don't getto fish nearly enough with girls of 6 & 3 at home...

Re: Stren Brute Strength diameter?
You are exactly right. I don't know if the formula is different or not, but the diameter is bigger. I have been using 20 lb. Flourescent original stren forever for our night tourneys. I actually went looking for 25 lb last year b/c I figured flipping a big Brush Hog into a dock slip at night--who ca...

Re: Buying reels from e-bay stores
I have ordered several E7s and just ordered a couple of Citicas for my brother in law...They are legit (check their feedback scores for legit dealers)...I can tell you, having a pretty good idea of Shimano "cost," the dealer on the Citicas is making less than $10 per reel after shipping. Not worth m...

Don't be intimidated by the size...You will catch plenty of 13" fish on a 10" worm.

I'm really starting to like the Yum Vibra King Tube because of the solid head and the way it fits a 4/0 hook.

Re: Eakin's Jig - Love it or Hate it?
Speaking of Omega, their regular finesse jig skips very well with an underhand pitch which got me to put one on a jig rod, along side my Eakins'.

Re: Eakin's Jig - Love it or Hate it?
while its not my go to anymore, i have probably caught more fish on a 5/16oz eakins jig with brown flat rubber skirt than any other jig i've ever thrown. they are the first i can remember with the weight along the hook shank so that you get the horizontal fall rather than head first fall which help...

Re: swimjig hooksets help ?
x2--BRAID is a must, IMO...
I also cut my weedguard completey off in most situation...and have seen people use a #1 Owner stinger on the jig hook for a "stinger hook," although I'm not a huge fan..

Re: New to Braid... What Should I Buy?
I've grown to like Stren Sonic Braid and after the sale at Dick's thats what I'll be using for a while...I don't go through much. I have not seen braid grooves in a LONG TIME, due to many factor in advanced tecnology in lines, rods, and reels. The only braid I really don't care for is the kind with ...

Re: football head jig setup?
Just a quick additional note...I think Loomis underestimates the recommended lure weight on many of their rods. The 873 is rated a 3/4oz...It can handle plenty more than that, I think...just my opinion.

Re: Small Baitcaster (easy to palm)
What about the Quantum Smoke? It certainly got a good review on TT. Tom Got good reviews but the biggest complaint I have heard is from the people that get real strong on the reel with their grip (putting their index finger on the line) and the "hump" on the magnetic brake being uncomfortable in th...

Re: just got my chronarch, wow its sweet!
Chromarch D I assume? That is a lot of people's favorite reel in the Shimano line up. "Feels" smoother than the Core and is smoother than the Chronarch 50MG because of the non-Magnesium frame...Feels more powerful than both as well. Now if they would give me an option with Curado E7 line capacity I'...
