Re: What is best for me: NRX 842C MBR, 802C JWR, or 852C JWR
First off, I'd throw the spinnerbaits on the 843 MBR that you already have. Those baits have too much pull for the 2-power rods, IMO and not ideal for casting wind resistant baits of that size either. That being said, I would scrap the 802 idea...from there, I would be curious what you will use it t...

Re: NRX 852s: Wow what a rod!
Why wouldn't the said rod not be good for dropshotting? I like the length, action, and power. The 822 seems like it would be more powerful based on the numbers. I just like the longer length in my DS fishing. Both 822s are less powerful than the 852 and, the DSR, considerably so...I have come to th...

The SK Menace catches smallies very well and it very finesse...Don't overlook your big baits in LM water (if you normally throw them)..10: worm, full size brush hog, etc..need a matching hook, obviously

Re: G. Loomis guys....Where you at?!?!
You are "pigeon-holing" yourself a bit with the 7'3"...will you go 7'5"? Jerkbaits--I like the MBR 782 GLX Spinnerbaits--MBR 843/844 GLX Topwater--I'm a fan of the CBR 845, for most...CBR 847 can be used for big spooks, etc. Could be varied opinions here Pitching jigs/Frogs--I would look at the NRX ...

Re: Tdz price question
More accurately, the "U.S. Trail" version is the 100M with a 5.7:1 gear ratio, 90mm handle, and deeper spool (more line capacity) than the 103H. The 103H is 6.3 with an 80mm handle.

Re: maxima
Thanks, Steve1206. Looking at Tackle Warehouse's listing for the line, I see that the claimed diameters for Ultragreen are now 6/.009"; 8/.010; 10/.012; 12/.013; 15/.015. The diameters I actually measured with a micrometer years ago were 6/.010"; 8/.012; 10/.014; there was no .013 Ultragreen availa...

Re: maxima
We've thrown the 8lb for jerkbaits (which is NOT .012"--it's .010", or even .0092, I believe on some older boxes.) and I have thrown 15lb on spinnerbaits. The line is decent enough, but unless you invest in the 3300yd/2630yd spools, the price does not justify what it is...I think there are too many ...

Re: What pound flouro?
Sniper is a thin line vs. label rating...If you don't care about popping a hookset here and there, then the above suggestion may work...Maybe I have a little different mindset based on tournament fishing fairly often...I see no reason to go below 16lb with the Senkos (assuming 5"??) and 20 on the ji...

Remember with it being JDM, there is not guarantee they have parts, etc, IF it needs them, and its an older reel...although there is a lot of crossover..maxpowers wrote:Do exactly what this man said.cndbasshunter wrote:Send it to Shimano, the return time is very quick and woould most likely be free

Re: Need help with a Crankbait reel.
Calais 100A is a spectacular cranking reel and my "go to." Definitely requires a 200A or aftermarket handle though. 70mm handle doesn't cut it, IMO.

Re: Shimano Calais - Why is it not popular?
Price and weight are working against thrm. The Calais 100a is still one of the best crankbait reels of all time. I sould have kept one of mine This is the answer, mostly. Prices have escalated since the discontinuation, especially on eBay and especially the 100A. I have 7, and throw about 90% of my...

Re: 3/16 & 1/4 nrx model
Plastic choice and line size (not to mention cover and depth) would have some bearing on my decision. You could go 852 to 894..although I'm guessing you're talking lighter/smaller plastics based on the choices you mentioned. Any more detail to exactly what you throw?

Re: Scott Suggs MLF Mystery Bait?
Man, never even heard of that bait. Has anyone used one? Opinions on when to use them? It's a very popular and well used lure here in the Ozarks, especially on Table Rock. Great post-spawn bait and works well in the early fall at times. Best fished as a slow rolling wake bait. Out of the box, many ...
