Re: Broke my beloved K2, Now what?
What do you want to fish with the rod? Lure / weight. I owned the OG Super Eiger and PG Mighty Finesse, and sold them both. I couldn't get use to the Super Eiger's soft tip, and didn't care for the sharp/pointy trigger. The blank was exquisite, and if I was more patient, I could have found an appli...

Re: Anyone has the Abu Garcia Fantasista Med light
It's not bad for a $150 rod . Sierra Trading Post had a great clearance deal on the Regista model. Sorry, I plan on keeping this ML rod.

Re: Anyone has the Abu Garcia Fantasista Med light
I've had one for a couple of years. I mainly use it for light Texas rigged worms or light jigs. I consider it more of a power BFS rod (light tip to more of a medium power backbone). It has a great tip for bottom fishing. It's got a true JDM backbone, where the rod flexes further down to it's butt, w...

Re: Shimano Poison Ultima Baitcasting 1610L-BFS
I've been looking at this rod as well. Does anyone know how this compares to Steez RD 631ML FB or the NRX 802C that I'm currently using for 1/8 - 3/16 jigs/tubes It's going to be lower in power than the NRX 802C, and I believe the 1610L would be too weak to handle a 3/16 jig or a normal 3.5"sized t...

Re: Steez CT SV strength
Caught this brown yesterday using a Steez CT. I had something on bigger than that. It ripped some line off the reel, and I tried thumbing the spool, but I lost it to a fallen tree on the side of the river. I didn't have my drag extra tight, since the jerkbaits I use have light wire hooks. I've broug...

I just got back into salmon fishing last year on Lake Michigan. Yesterday, was our first time out for this seas...

Nice! An old school classic. I always wanted one of those. What lures do you mainly fish with it?

Re: Shimano Poison Ultima Baitcasting 1610L-BFS
It's a very nice finesse bottom contact rod. I haven't fished lately, but it has a crisp tip with good backbone. I mainly use it with 2.75" tubes on a 1/8 oz hook or a heavier 1/16 - 3/32 oz ned rigs. It was also a blast fishing with 1/4 oz Deraspin and Derabuzz. I've tried it with smaller jerkbaits...

Re: Smallmouth Workhorses
Thanks for sharing.
The southern part of Lake Michigan is very special for smallmouth.
I'm a river rat, but enjoy catching smallies on the lakes that connect into Lake Michigan. Now, having access to a boat, I really want to get that Steez rod.

Which hook is that on the tube?

Winco's (now Fitt Lures) also makes them.

Re: Light BFS or ML rod for finesse.
Just getting ready to go out on the river. It was so cold out last night that I had ice on the yak. They're only calling for a high of 52 degrees today with rain. Here's the balance point. With it being so light, it's very enjoyable to fish with all day. https://i.vgy.me/QgM3Ed.jpg Here's the little...

Re: Light BFS or ML rod for finesse.
I had the PG Mighty Finesse and it worked well with 3/16 oz jigs and Keitech swim baits. I now own the 1610L BFS Poison Ultima, and it's great for light neds, and finesse tubes on a 1/8 oz jighead. Larger tubes, I would move up to a ML BFS rod. It's very sensitive and more crisp than the PG. I've br...
