I thought they have always been called super stickers? Great reel seats, Loomis used to build his factory rods in them

I second the tip wrap issue. Otherwise they are a nice guide to fish in my opinion.

Considering I use 4-8lb rated blanks for 15 pound steelhead those choices sound like meat sticks for perch. I'd be trying something in the 2-6 range 1-4 if possible.

Would be interested in perspectives from an American blank builder like Gary Loomis NFC and stuff designed in Japan. Are there real differences? Or has rod technology really conformed and found commonality on an international scale?
