Re: Is the OG Zillion dead ?
Don't see why they'd be dead, but i sure don't want one and would never get it over the new zillions. Its simply too heavy and bulky, but pretty good for frogging. A 4.9 on an Orochi Launcher is the best deep Cranking combo known to man. https://i.postimg.cc/5NkjnH8f/23-C1844-A-A636-433-B-AA48-E165...

I would say yes. Especially with the Yen rate the way it is now and what you can buy them for.

Re: Is the OG Zillion dead ?
I’ve gotten rid of pretty much all my OG reels except for one Steez and a Zillion Crazy Cranker. It’s hard to beat the smoothness of an OG Zillion but the new Zillion platform really does it for me so that the majority of what I have now. The OG is a beast of a reel but you pay for it with weight

Re: 7’1” MedHvy. Valkyrie
This combo is a buzzbait MACHINE! https://i.postimg.cc/tgJCFjz9/D246-DF6-B-D95-B-4-DC5-A5-B5-F7-CA43-CB4199.jpg On a side note. Does anybody know where I could get some smoked Megabass smoked Hyperknobs for RH reels, or if they even exist? My OCD won’t let me have MB written upside down while I’m re...

What’s the scoop? There is ZERO talk of them here. Anybody use the Blackscale XP deep cranking custom?

It’s just such a good rod. Everybody should buy one, end of story! It would be absolute perfection if it had cork!

So I’ve had a few From Japan for years but have never fished them. Has anybody fished the new ones yet?

Re: Crankbait rods...Megabass vs G.Loomis...which would you pick?
I REALLY like the Steez rods. They are all a lot more versatile than the MB imo. If I were looking for a rod for RKs, the z crank and Steez MBV would be at the top of my list.
If clemson means you’re in SC, maybe we can plan a fishing trip sometime and you can throw all mine

I just wanted something lighter weight. The FSS would be fantastic with Spro RKs.

Re: Crankbait rods...Megabass vs G.Loomis...which would you pick?
It's pretty versatile and I've thrown shallow, medium, and deep divers. It can also throw squarebills and lipless baits. I would say it shines at 3/8 to 3/4. The sweet spot for me is 1/2 oz. Like I said, I have the 1st gen xx. Awesome! Have you ever had a chance to compare it to the z crank elseil?...

Re: Megabass Z crank blue/red label
Not really a fan of them. They just don’t seem to be fish catchers so I sold all mine. If you want JDM balsa, I’d recommend Woodream No-names

I really like mine for buzzbaits. Great for spinnerbait too. I plan on using it for lipless as well

Re: X-Bites vs BC2
It can certainly be used for lighter but I’d say 1/2oz weight plus plastic. That’s just my opinion even though I believe the x bites shows a higher weight range. Again, I’d give an honest look at the UP!
