Re: So what's your main tacklebox?
I don't really like the hanging crank bait boxes. I can't see exactly what I'm looking for, especially if it's in the middle of the cluster... and speaking of clusters...that's what I usually end up with! I can't seem to remove "just one"! The tail hook of the one I pull first snags the front treble...

Re: So what's your main tacklebox?
Fred, as you say you are mainly a shore fisherman, you might consider one of the backpacker tackle bags. Leaves both hands free to carry poles, stool, and bait bucket. Gadget

Re: G. Loomis Xpeditor service
Just a couple months ago... I called, they shipped, I got...no questions asked. Put my broken rod back in the same tube the new one came in, slapped on the prepaid return shipping label, and sent it on it's way. Well worth the $50. Gadget

Re: Spinning reels?
Call it "snobbish" or "practical", but I tend to match higher priced, higher quality reels, with my more expensive, higher quality rods and lower priced rels with rods of comparable value. For example, I paired a Shimano Symetre 4000 with a St Croix PS70MF, and $80 reel on a $90 rod. A Cabelas Prodi...

Re: Reel Seat: Loomis vs. Fuji
Thanks SLM... Now, how to tell the dif on the guides on my spinning rods? I do note that the guides on my IMX and GL3 SJR's with the G-Loomis reel seats do not stand off the shaft quite as high as the guides on the GL3 SJR with the Fuji seat. Otherwise the ceramic seems to be of similar size, color,...

Choosing a blank
I am considering the purchase of my first custom rod. Since I already own an SJR721 and an SJR722, I was thhinking I might enjoy a Spin-Jig rod in a 6'6" or 7'0" length with medium to medium heavy action. I was considering an off the rack G-Loomis SJR783 IMX, but thought maybe this would be a good o...

Re: Reel Seat: Loomis vs. Fuji
Interesting! So how can my untrained eye tell the difference between a Fuji Alconite and a Pac-Bay guide? Thanks, GSLM wrote:IThe best configuration would be the transition rods --these have Wiebe seats with Fuji Concept guides.

Re: Reviews on Cabela's New Prodigy Reel
Since you indicae that you are considering a 4500 size reel, I assume you are refering to the Prodigy spinning reel which is currently on sale for $80 (normally $120). I have one of these in a 2500 size and it is a twin brother to my Daiwa Capricorn 2500 (also about $120 retail). At $120, it's as go...

Reel Seat: Loomis vs. Fuji
:?: I have several G-Loomis IMX rods, MBR, CR, and SJR and a couple Walleye Series. I was comparing the older rods with the G-Loomis reel seats to the newer rods with the Fuji reele seats and wondered if any one had any opinions as to which might be the better of the two seats...for casting? spinnin...
