Re: Treble hooks --- single hooks
I use VMC Siwash hooks on my small ice fishing spoons. Siwash hooks have an open eye, you just hook it on and crimp the eye shut.

Re: Trying something new : Aqua Glide Blackfoot XL inflatable kayak
Interested to see what your thoughts are. I almost pulled the trigger on a kayak this past fall but not having a good place to store it when not in use caused me to back out. An inflatable may be my answer. 1/3 of the price isn't bad either.

Re: Casting Rods... What will you spend?
I like to keep it under $300 for a rod. Most expensive one I have was $285. Cheapest one I currently have was $130 and it's one of my favorites.

Almost never have a reason to untie this one. Couldn't even begin to guess the amount of fish it's caught. Watermelon War Eagle 3/8.

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
I know most of you guys don't ice fish but this is from last year. Struggling for ice in most places this year, unfortunately. Lure size to fish size ratio is pretty extreme here. 4mm jig with a 1" Gulp minnow. Estimate the fish at 20", 5ish pounds. It was a hell of a surprise and good fight while j...

Re: Bush Hog Spinnerbaits
I always wondered who made those. I have 2 that my dad gave me and he still has a couple I think. I've caught some nice fish on one just like in the link above.

Re: Shimano Zodias
Just got my new combo (7' MH), looks and feels fantastic. I'm a little disappointed about the lack of hook keeper though. Spooled up with 8 lb. McCoy Xtra Clear.

Re: Shimano Zodias
Just ordered the 7' MH spinning and a Stradic CI4+ to match. It's been a long time since i've owned a Shimano rod, i'm looking forward to it.

Re: Shimano Zodias
I'm thinking of picking up the 7' MH spinning mainly for weightless senkos instead of a Dobyns 703SF. Any insight on this? I don't have a local retailer.

Re: Does light braid spook fish?
I don't know, I have 5 lb. braid on my ultra lights and still use a leader. Just gives me more confidence, who knows if it helps or not. The only thing I throw straight braid on is my frog rod.

Re: Lew's Reels
In the past 2 years I have switched all but one of my casting reels to Lews. I have 2 Tournament Pros, a Tournament Lite and a BB1 Pro. I had a Tourney Pro on my lipless crank rod last year and switched to a BB1 Pro this year. Back to back with an LV500 the BB1 Pro clearly casts further. I used to c...
