Re: New Fenwick Techna

What's your honest opinion of those guides? There are 10 guides, the bottom two are double foot and the top eight are not but the top eight seem semi micro. they smaller than normal but not micro. There appears to be a good bit of attention to detail, ie no slop at all on them. Those are my observa...

There are alot of options. just depends on your brand loyalty or if you are willing to step outside of the box.

Some home made Tokyo rigs https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48878674846_1e093d9460_c.jpg I like this and it has given me ideas.. I know for a fact that a little noise never hurts , so the beads are a must.. If you decide you want to sell a couple rigs, I'd buy. We have to support one another habi...

Re: New Fenwick Techna

Oh. That's confusing because you mentioned Brian and the Tackletrap. Ok I see I had two thoughts I was expressing. One was a “Thank You “ to Brian who helped me but that was separate from the Rod. It came from TWH and was an anniversary gift from my wife. We were supposed to keep the gifts at $200 ...

Re: New Fenwick Techna

Did they order it in for you? I'd like to hear more about it after you've fished it. It was ordered from TWH and over nighted.. I have caught fish on it already on 8lb mono and 1/8 jig head shakey ned hybrid but tomorrow if I am hoping to go on the water. Its not whippy and for now seems like exact...

So a good 3/8-1/2 ounce jog rod?
Depending on the person but 3/8 and higher for sure when using the 7’2” rod. I’ve got 20# floro on a Steez Ltd and 1/4 with rage bug for now

New Fenwick Techna

Just made it home and the new fenwick Techna rod was waiting for me as well as an Otomat Before I get into it.. Id like to say Thanks to Brain at the Tackle Trap.. Customer Service seems to have different meaning to different people but I can say that I needed something ASAP and He went Above and Be...

Re: Sensitive Moving Bait Rods

I think jerkbaits are the trickiest of the bunch. Finding the perfect tip speed for not over or under working various style and depth baits, yet having a blank that will properly load and flex deep enough (not to deep), to keep fish pinned. I believe sensitivity is a little more important here than...

Re: OG zillion Revisited

The IP stock spool is no slouch when skipping. It would be my top pick for the platform. From what I understand the IP and J dream have the same spool. With the IP being a Megabass J dream. I believe the IP reels also have stronger magnets like the IS reels. My IP68 skips great but you milage may v...

Re: High end frog rod: heavy-ish surface veg

Sorry about that
I took the st. Croix out today and if you weren’t using it for frogs in heavy cover it just could work. It’s more of a toad rod IMHO

it does have backbone and is great for skipping jigs. That the rod that lends itself to skipping for me.

Re: High end frog rod: heavy-ish surface veg

Mostly frog pads, matted milfoil and other matted veg(6-8 out of 10) walk the edges and open patches. So, looking for something Between H-XH not more than 7'6" that is fairly easy to walk with. I can walk with a broomstick but the slack I have to throw can lead to backslashes when bombing casts. Th...
