Re: ICast 2011 rumors

1. The Sol will return, but in a higher end incarnation. I'm not sure if it will still be called the Sol, but it will be a finesse reel.
2. The T3 comes over.
3. The Steez rods have a new guide train - recoils or micros.

Re: Lucky Craft Iron Athlete Fluorocarbon Line?

I used it for little bit. It is decent line...holds a decent knot. For the sale price @ TW it is good, but not at the regular retail price. I still prefer FC Sniper, but the Iron Athlete is a good line.

Re: Dual Braking Reels??

Technically...Mag Z and Mag V are "dual" braking systems because they employ centrifugally driven parts with magnetic braking eddy currents. ;)

I liked the DBS in a Pro Qualifier I had. I liked it a lot. It was easy to cast into the wind, that's for sure.

Re: Sunline Super Natural & Sunline Super Fluorocarbon Opin

I've never used Seaugar... I just spooled up with Super Natural in #10 yesterday for working jerkbaits. So far, it is excellent. Strong (I snagged a rock) and fairly abrasion resistant. It feels almost like a copoly...not like a typical nylon mono. I used a spool of Super FC in #16 on a 7'MH rod. Pr...

Re: Jerkbait problem

Thanks for the pics. I'll check out my 110's when I get home from work. Interesting that you only kept the last 2 hooks. When I get a good jerkbait bite, the bass will usually hit the 1st 2 trebles. I add an Owner ST41 treble to the rear so it suspends slightly straighter instead of in an angle. An...

Re: New custom rod - called the "Tessen"

WOW! That is very nice! Do the reel seats come colored or is Mitch painting them? I've always wondered about painted reel seats like that. Time to hit up Aunt Moggy! IMO a factory painted TD-Z would fare better! :big grin: Nice layout on that rod Tok. Looks authentic with the flowers and stamp. I k...

I put Sunline Super Natural in #10 on it this afternoon and went out to Erie. I didn't fish long as the 20mph winds were relentless, and I didn't get to hook up. Casting was excellent! Let's see how it feels with a fish...hopefully soon.

Re: New custom rod - called the "Tessen"

Beautiful combo! Please post your impressions of the rod's performance after you use it. Is that a Mudhole blank? How are they as compared to a Rainshadow RX8? Depends on your application. I think the RX8 is better with regards to vibe transmission, but the MHX is excellent for spinnerbaits, etc wh...

New custom rod - called the "Tessen"

A tessen is a "war fan", used by samurai for defense and battlefield commands. This rod is intended for fan casting areas with jerkbaits, topwaters and small (3/8 oz) spinnerbaits. The handle is very short for working jerkbaits and one handed casting. It is a perfect rod for a Vision 110. Blank: MHX...
