px type R for use of 8lb test and under. steez for use of 10lb test and above. it really comes down to what you want to use it for.

Re: Opinions on Curado 100D
i had one before. they are very nice, thought much better than the E series. but i had issues when using it with anything under 10lb test. line would dig into between spool and frame occasionally when backlashing. very frustrating when it would happen as you have to pop out the spool and untangle th...

Re: Swimbait Rod/Blank Decision
i have a factory phenix SB800h. this is a replacement rod i got after breaking 800h hybrid model.the rod looks good and feels great in hands, but it just does not handle bigger baits too well imo.it is rated up to 8oz bait, it throws lighter baits like 9in slammer, wake jr but once you get past that...

Re: Calcutta TE issue...
I think you might have put the roller bearing back in opposite way. Roller bearings come off easy on te400 when taken apart. Remember that roller bearings turen only one way. Hope you solve this problem soon.

Re: LDC custom swimbait rod
Does anyone know who makes the blank on the LDC rods? Its a phenix blank. Nice combo! Congrats! It is a Phenix blank, however, they are made to Ben's specifications. Different actions and feel compared to the standard phenix blanks. That's interesting to know. Last time I spoke to jeff, he said tha...

calcutta te 200 problem
Hey board, I just picked up a te 200 last week, brought it home, broke it down and did the normal greasing and lubing. I didn't fish it, but it felt very smooth and nice. So I ordered carbontex drag for it. It came a couple of nights ago, took the reel apart again, dropped it in, and that's where th...

Re: Daiwa Pluton
I had mine spooled with 70lb samurai braid and only got about 90yd. I just switched out to 55lb samuraid braid and got about 120yd. I too wish this reel had more line cap, but still a great reel.

Hey I need your help guys. I was unscrewing the side plate and the retainer from the side cover popped out. And I can't seem to put it back in the place. Has this happened to anyone here before?
