Re: Dobyns Champ Crank 806CB?

I have that rod now going on 3+ years and for 5xd and DD22 its a great rod, just awesome (this is my opinion) the tip of the rod is fast so when the rod load for a cast the lure you using has a tendency to keep the bait ass first so it fouls less (all CB rods do it, but this one does it a lot less)...

Or some suspend strips/dots...I like to wrap the hooks as opposed to trying to stick them to the body....that being said, LC is usually pretty consistent with their suspending baits.

Re: daiwa steez baitcast advice before using

If its a JDM reel, it should be a 100SH...the SHA is the USDM product...which is a minor/basically irrelevant detail, in most cases. Line cap is spec'ed as 14/120 and 16/100, as are most, or all, Daiwa 100-sized reels. IPT is 29.8" (75cm). The reel is versatile and will cast just about anything, wit...

Re: Cork Sealing

Slightly damp cloth on a brand new rod to get the "cork dust" off...you'll see it if you use paper towel...don't "scrub" or you'll knock cork filler out...let dry if needed. Then seal.

Re: nrx 893 vs nrx 853

The only place I liked the 853 over the 893 is playing in that 1/4 oz range..give or take a hair. I think you feel slightly more connected in that light range with the 853..I sold my 853 and got a second 893..it's a more versatile rod, IMO, and has more benefits than the 853. The length for casting ...

Re: Simonssportinggoods

I can't comment on this exact case, but I have bought from Simmons off of Ebay and it was legit. They had a HUGE stock of Steez SHAs and HAs last year/earlier this year. I can say I won one at a legit price...low $300s. Whether someone is bumping them up into a minimum price range...I don't know...b...

Yes $308 is a good price. I have paid anywhere from $300-$385 for all of mine..NIB to barely used 100HA/SHAs (previous generation).

Re: Seaguar Invisx?

"Thinner" does not tell the story with fishing line...Just because someone's 10lb line is .010" and another's 10lb is .011," DOES NOT means that line #1 has greater tensile strength. It may or may not. There is a lot of variance in how companies label their lines and the rules governing this are not...

Re: Best rod for accurate cast

Accuracy has more to do with the Indian than the arrow... oe This and a couple other variables in play..lure weight for one..also, for lack of a better term, "muscle memory" comes into play. In other words, the more you work with a given rod and a specific lure, the better you'll get with release p...

Re: Ran across this 110 recently

Steve, The IL Chart Tail Shad is my favorite color. I throw that way more than the Pro Blue. I have 1 or 2 of those in the first pupil too. But, I do not see a different in the color between that particular color. I assume you are saying the 2000 Pro blue is nearly the same as the IL Chart Tail Sha...

Re: Ran across this 110 recently

The 2000 year is a find. It fetches more money than the 2001 and 2005 straight eye Pro Blue. They are also lighter in color, in 2000, compared to other pro blues, whether '01, '05, or newer eye down. More faded like the IL Chart Tail Shad

Re: Favorite Or Greatest Bass Fisherman Of All Time

Statistically, regarding tour level tournaments, it's nearly impossible to argue against Kevin Van Dam. Roland Martin and Rick Clunn, along with KVD are a nearly consensus 1-3. KVD- 20 BASS wins, 4 Classics, 7 AOYs Clunn- 14 BASS wins, 4 Classics, 1 AOY Martin- 19 BASS wins, 0 classics, 9 AOYs There...
