It all comes down to what you feel comfortable with. I have alot of faith in Shimanos build. I also like centrif brakes over may brakes. Some Abu and Lews have centrif brakes, but they are more of a pin type spring mechanism, and I'm not a fan. I like the feel of the Shimano reels better as well. Ho...

My Curado50E. Aluminum drag star, Boca Abec 5 SS bearings, Hawg Tech Hawg Handle, and Carbontex drag washer. Spooled with 15lb green YoZuri, and mounted on a 6'8 MH F Shimano Compre rod.

The 50 series will hold plenty of line. I have a Curado50E with 15# YoZuri, and have no worries of line cap.

Thanks everyone! It seems both are very highly regarded reels. The pics are great! Thanks! The 100d isnt really much bigger then the 50e. I really wasnt sure about that. It looks as if it may sit just a tad higher on the rod but thats all i can really see. As for "light lures" i mean pitching 1/16o...
