Re: 300 size reel with these specs
The Lexa CC and Okuma Komodo SS are the only current LP reels that I know of with a clicker. The older Abu Toro NaCl does also. They all use an internal centrifugal brake design as does round reels like the Cardiff and Ambassdeur. Lexas with Magforce have true external control only. 14 Conquests wit...

The 1520 G1 spool is compatible with the 1516 Zillion and vice versa.

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
I have the 1520 HL. Initial impressions are that it is ridiculously smooth and solid. Easily smoother than my 15 Conquest 101HG. I got 16.19g for the 1520 spool weight with bearing.

Re: Daiwa Zillion 1516 vs 1016 - JDM
I wonder if the new G1 spool with Magforce Z in the Zillion HD will fit the old Zillion TWS... If it would, that could help some. I just found out that my old Zillion TWS spool loaded 80% with braid weighs MORE than my Tatula Type R spool with about 90% braid (10% old fluoro backing), after removin...

Re: Long distance spool for sv103
I've tried the G1 1016 Spool from the Steez A and it casts pretty good in the SV103. Definitely a good deep spool option.

Re: Pinion Frame Hump
It is there to help prevent water from getting on the pinion bearing. Nothing more. On some reels like Metanium MGL that have a bearing on the spool, it is a support for that bearing. For the Curado K and some of our other models, it is only to prevent water from getting on the bearing. Thanks Bant...

Re: Pinion Frame Hump
That's more of a collar for the spool bearing. You'll likely notice that reels without this collar do not have a bearing under the spool pin on that side. Karl It makes sense that it would hold the bearing on Daiwa's free floating spool and Shimano's Silent Tune configurations. The Curado 70, Curad...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
Maybe that tick is from the bearings that come with it. No, I'm positive that it is the spool pin rocking back and forth inside the groove in the pinion gear. I took my Alphas SV with DIY spool out today and I heard the ticking sound too! I swore I did not hear it before reading this post  I w...

Pinion Frame Hump
My buddy's Curado Is have recently been feeling gritty. After going through the reel we determined that the problem was the inner pinion bearing. Replacing that bearing made the problem go away. What we did notice after comparing it to the Curado K (and other reels), is that there is a hump most lik...

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
Hello, Guys! In our Russian fishermans forum one of member posted videos about gap gap between body and side cover. Owners of Ryoga 18, can you check yours and say - is it normal or it it a reel's defect? https://youtu.be/VSIDmBrDar4 https://youtu.be/2iBm9KZ_QY0 In the video posted by Plat, the gap...

I may have missed it then. I've been checking a few sites and it's not even listed on JPangler, JLS or JapanTackle, only the 1016 models.Blauwe Lori wrote:Digitaka had the 1520 in stock last week

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
I'm just waiting for the 1520 version to be released... :tired: Also, it looks like Daiwa USA is only releasing 4 of the 8 possible configurations. http://www.daiwa.com/us/contents/reels/ryoga/index.html Only 1 of the 1016 variation: 1016H 6.3 - Right And 3 of the 1520 variations: 1520CC 5.4- Right ...
