I have the 1520 HL. Initial impressions are that it is ridiculously smooth and solid. Easily smoother than my 15 Conquest 101HG. I got 16.19g for the 1520 spool weight with bearing.

I wonder if the new G1 spool with Magforce Z in the Zillion HD will fit the old Zillion TWS... If it would, that could help some. I've tried the G1 1016 Spool from the Steez A and it casts pretty good in the SV103. Definitely a good deep spool option.

It is there to help prevent water from getting on the pinion bearing. Nothing more. On some reels like Metanium MGL that have a bearing on the spool, it is a support for that bearing.
