On a recent trout fishing excursion in Florida, I caught this bass and cichlid. Surprisingly, no trout. You never know what your going to get..

Re: 22 Aldeberan BFS Line Choice Help
PE is not normally referenced in #, but in No. The number relates directly to line diameter, regardless of # test. Example would be PE 1.2, which is .185 mm, the size of Power Pro 15# . Or, PE 1, which is .165 mm, the size of Sufix 832 6#. Referencing # rating doesnt coorsipond with line size as too...

Re: MC SQUARED DOUBLE Ceramic bearing kits
I put them in my Abu 2500 and they are stellar. I'd say better than KTF's double bb that are on a KTF spool I have. If I am not mistaken the KTF double bb (and others you might find) is a bearing stuffed in another bearing. The MC Squared is made from scratch and you can visually tell the difference...

Re: Balsa Lures
Built a little collection of balsa's the last 6 months since diving into trout fishing. I've added about a dozen more since this picture. (there is one plastic in the pic) All of them have seen water, at least to get them tuned, most have been fished. I don't even reach for the plastics anymore, the...

Re: What have I got???
You found yourself a little treasure box. Unused, in the box probobly have a value of $400 to $600 from what I have seen on Yahoo Japan.
Here is a rod on ebay that has the very same guides.

Re: Travel Rod : Studio Composite Versus North Fork
I've got the Studio Composite 7603 (non-travel) and it's built like a tank. I've used it for a wide variety of species, including 15lb Snook and Stripers and even a 50lb Tarpon. Under those circumstance, I was using 50# Braid (PE3) and up to a 40# leader. It's one of the few bass rods that I have t...

Re: Minimum parts needed to tune an Abu 1500c to be BFS?
All 4 of mine are easier to cast and do cast further than my Conquest BFS and Millionaire CT, even with the factory centrifugal brake. That is interesting. From my previous experience those old school reels with non-disenganged levelwind are not very good reel for bfs as the mechanism itself added ...

Re: Minimum parts needed to tune an Abu 1500c to be BFS?
I'm not going to point myself as the expert, but I did complete a full Avail build a couple of months ago and did it in steps. As you mentioned, I would start with the spool and bearings (Abu won't accept the Hedgehog BFS Air, just the Air). Spool size depends on what you will be throwing and line s...

Re: DRT rods, tho
They certainly have mastered the art of reserve selling. Thier new Alva Limited consistantly re-sells for between 5-6k, I think it is less than $800 retail.

Re: CC BFS 23 vs 17?
My specimen has some play in the drag star, perpendicular to the turning plane, a bit more on one side than the other. Do others have similar attributes? Out of the box, mine had a slight bit of play. The NS Craft single handle I installed came with a washer (slightly thicker than stock) and insert...

Re: CC BFS 23 vs 17?
Gorgeous reel, pictures on the web don't do justice. Needs equally gorgeous knobs. Sita Stag is always a nice option. Nice setup. I'm probably going for ebony. What handle nut did you use to replace the stock plastic? Is this with the stock handle? Yes, that was the stock handle. I used and avail n...
