Re: High end Jdm cranking rod help

[quote="RISE"]Starting a new thread, but wanted to do a quick post in here to mention that I got to spend a few days on the water with the Hooligan, Cristobal Ltd. and my favorite big bait stick...The Lion Heart. Also got to add hours onto other favorite sticks in the collection. Hooligan ...

Re: Poison adrena 2018?

I ordered this rod off of eBay today and I was curious to see where the rod connects for the 2 piece construction. I've read somewhere saying that most of the past Adrenas over 7' usually connect at the front of the reel seat(which is where I hope it is) but I'm slightly concerned about power and d...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

I’m likely off base; so please correct me. It’s just that I don’t remember Dobyns getting a huge amount of hype. I’ve never owned one, so can’t chime in on their performance, but I’ve always seen them as a middle of the pack big production style rod that a dude would match up with a lews reel or som...

Re: Daiwa JDM Rod users

I hope the OP doesn’t mind me posting this little review here, but I finally opened my 6’10”ml+fb shallow cover finesse. I wasn’t sure what the power was going to be like when I got it, but I’m very excited about this rod. To me it feels like the conquest 842 and MB x7 super eiger had a baby that’s...

Re: High end Jdm cranking rod help

[quote="RISE"]The Hooligan is quite a stout rod, and has a unique taper. If you look at the pic closely, you'll notice that there is a small section of the tip that does not have much transition within it, and then the fast-ish taper starts into backbone. I'd like to call it a "duel t...

Re: Orochi Peak Performance F3-610DGS

I just ordered one of these rods from a Japan auction site and have only ever seen the LTD edition. Curious on if anyone has ever used or seen one of these rods before? I’ve never come across this one, but have picked up a couple rods from this series in used but excellent condition over the years ...

Re: High end Jdm cranking rod help

I was unprepared for the level of awesomeness that is in this crankbait rod thread. Right on! I didn’t know where this journey into the Jdm underground would take me when posted, but it’s been fun and a learning experience in many ways. I appreciate everyone who’s posted and helped me along the way...

Re: High end Jdm cranking rod help

If you can find one, a TDZ-103 Personal Order in white my look nice on that rod, Dom! That's a sweet rod, I'm looking for another crankbait stick myself and your photos of the White Falcon has piqued my interest! Thanks. I wish my pics were better quality, but it’s better than nothing. Much nicer r...

Re: 2019 Daiwa Morethan PE 1000 TW

No; it would not be ideal. I can pull a big soft swimbait as slow as possible easily with the 8.6, but a hard billed crank is too cumbersome to control and work over cover for me much above something like 6.3.

Re: 2019 Daiwa Morethan PE 1000 TW

Which would be the best purpouse for this reel ? 8.6 ratio with bronze elements its better ? If already sold a Daiwa BBS and this could replace him. I was using bbs for crankin baits I don't know what to do... seems to be too fast for cranking really? Thank you very much. Regards I've been using fo...

Re: Daiwa JDM Rod users

RD 7.1 Husler came today and only had time to take a sneak peak as one of my kids is sick. Interesting problem identified. This thing is borderline too pretty to fish. I’ve been able to get that and relate to guys who feel that way about certain reels, but never had quite such a thought abo...

Re: What are You PUNCHING with?

2019 zbone 7.6 heavy + zillion type r. Each year I try to mix it up a bit but I don’t think I’ve gone to punching this frequently before. Maybe I figured something out that I wasn’t doing as well previously, but this rod is perfect in my hands for punching. I just don’t think much can be done to fee...
