Re: NFC blank help needed

Just tried to order a couple of blanks from NFC. Great prices for the blanks. International shipping kills the deal tho. Wanted about $300 US worth of blanks. Shipping comes to over $600 US. How come I can order from Japan, admittedly closer to my address, and shipping is less than $100 US. Bit of a...

Re: ICAST

Daiwa is releasing teasers of a new BG SW reel on FB. Pics show a very updated design. Spinning SW rod. Have not seen the rod just them saying a new BG SW reel. Wonder if that is the rod in the pic with the yellowfin? Nope...my bad...meant to say reel...clearly says new BG SALT SPINNING REEL. Daiwa...

Re: Shimano Curado Type-J

Only Curado J I know of was marketed in Australia about 5 or 6 years ago. Sold as a light inshore jigging reel. Don't think they caught on though. Only lasted for one production run at the time.

Re: SLP Works - Daiwa

SLP parts should be available thru Daiwa themselves (expensive option) or any dealer of daiwa gear should be able to source them. Check the Daiwa international site for more info on what is available. Hope this helps.

Re: Daiwa Presso

The Presso was originally designed as a specialist small reel for throwing treble hooked lures, minnows, jerkbaits etc. The 70mm handle helps with working such lures in that you can quickly spin it to pick up any slack line when working these lures, a thing that is probably now redundant with the di...

triple_illusion wrote:Nice score! I still consider that era GLX to be the best blank ever made. I love my JDM's but nothing feels like a GLX. If only G Loomis would partner with a JDM brand, kinda like Jackall did with Shimano, that would be epic. Great rod and catch a big one!

This. Run the line through the line guide and out the opening on the side of the frame where you removed the side plate. Easy peasy

Re: How long can a bass live out of the water???

Another factor related to this. According to newer research, the length of time a fish is kept out of the water has a direct bearing on its chances of spawning in the future. The short answer is, do what you must, but do it quickly.

Amazing effort to get a rod and reel combo to balance at the trigger. Could we see photos please? Also what weight have you added to the butt to achieve this ?

Re: Best Spinning Reel Brand For Fluorocarbon ?

I use a mix of Shimano and Daiwa spin reels and find them both to be a non issue as far as line twist in fluoro or mono goes. If you experience line twist, it can easily be greatly reduced by simply unspooling a length of line and towing it behind the boat for a short distance before slowly winding ...
