Re: Daiwa Steez AGS QC
I buy Megabass and forget what issues with rods even means 8-) The locking fore nuts on MB have historically cracked, have paint chips, and have the carbon weaves and components come unglued from the fancy metal locking nuts. My LWL Super Diablo II has had the elaborate metal locking foregrip nut s...

Re: is Daiwa tatula still the reel to get?
Top choice for what rod, techs, line, etc.?
I'd opt Tatula 70/80/100 for a lot of techs for sure. Or a nice used OG Daiwa if one came up in that price range. The Fuego CT is also a very good reel.
Shimano SLX is up there as are some closeout Curados in that price range, if you prefer Shimano.

Re: JIS screw driver set
Where is the size #1 listed for the Vessel JIS Jawsfit? I looked on Amazon a few times and couldn't find the #1 listed, although it appears that the green colored one is what is being recommended?

Re: Thoughts on high end bfs?
Fishing and travel go well together. I fish for perch and pike, but my main interest is BFS for trout and light tackle salmon fishing. Swing by and I will show you some waters... Thank you for the offer! It's been more than two decades since I last traveled to Europe and there's a certain "old worl...

Wera 05008710001 Kraftform Plus 350 PH Phillips Screwdriver, Lasertip, PH 1 Head, 3-1/8" Blade Length https://a.co/d/fdAovCr I really haven't had any issues with my Wiha, just need strong pressure on the screw and turn SLOW...that said, this Wera model with the laster cut tip is much better for grip...

Re: New Zillion Rods
Yeppers...SS Alconites on the '24 Zillion v. SS SIC on the Rebellion is a noticeable difference, however the blank upgrade on the Zillion makes it more than a fair compromise, it would be even more attractive at the $300 price point.

Re: Are Loomis GLX rods far behind now?
Glad to see you back Kurt! I hope that you and your family are well. I don't know if the current GLX has "fallen far" behind, so much as the design/styling and price is a bit more dear than other makes/models out there that are comparable, and priced lower. On the two models you selected, I would th...

Re: Who do you fish with the Most ?
My wife is my #1 fishing partner now. When we first started dating years ago this wasn't the case, she did not care to fish after spending her summers at sea on her grandparents commercial fishing boat. Fishing for fun has changed her outlook and she will go with me anytime she can. You are blessed...

I use my 8.6 XH for all moving power techs, anything from 1/4 oz mag finesse with a Ray's BFS spool, to 1/2 - 1.25 oz topwaters, frogs, and wakes. I love it for swimjigs and paddletails as well, and of course lipless and even chatters and spinnerbaits when I want to move it higher in the water colum...
