Re: PIXY Question
Hey, no need to get pissy.. the way your original statement reads, it's as if you expected the spool to be enganged when you pressed the thumbar. Your step by step is much clearer... i say something is wrong with the reel You know, I was going to put a comment in there saying my step, by step was n...

Re: Rod for surface lures?
TB... best for me.. :) I use either an MH or M powered rod usually - depending on the cover. I've not fished the Viento so I can't comment on its effectiveness to help walk the dog or pop baits. However... if you can effectively walk the dog by using the twitching bar on the Viento. I'd immediately ...

Re: Antares DC versus Conquest DC
welcome back Darth 'Cuda.. i was wondering where you had disappeared to. :) Yes, the 42mm handle means 84mm center to center on the knobs... it will be a very nice sized handle. The Antares reels are VERY sturdy The IPT on the 5.8:1 Antares might be more than the Conquest at 5.0.. but keep in mind t...

Re: Rod for surface lures?
Magnus, For me, topwater presentations where you're twitching or jerking the rod to impart action on the lure work best with rods that are 6'6" or shorter... even down to 5'6". Megabass and Evergreen make many rods in these lengths, and if you read their websites, there are a few intentionally desig...

Re: Flipping line recomendations....
A couple of things to be careful with when using braid for flipping: - One... as KBT mentioned, braid in and around rocky structure is bad news. It has very low abrasion resistance with rocks and will break off rather easily. - Two... I've not experienced this myself, but I'm hearing more and more c...

Re: Crestliners, or other decent aluminum?
Keep in mind, the biggest cost with a boat - especially a relatively bare bones aluminum boat - is the motor. When I purchased my first boat, the cost of my motor (40hp Yamaha) was more than the cost of the boat and trailer combined! Can't comment on depreciation since I usually keep my vehicles for...

Re: Lunkers Club
I have a couple of the Lunker's Club poppers... the detailing on the finish isn't all that great... they're just "ok"... have yet to play with one in the water.
