Re: Alphas sv105
I threw a R+ spring on my SV105 spool for shizs and gigs but before that, I never had a problem throwing lures. I'm not much of a finesse guy, so as you, I usually throw 3/8ths and up and it casts very effortlessly. Sounds like something is going on. How tight do you set your cast control knob and ...

Re: Megabass levante
Anyone using the jerkbait special? I found another rod I like better for jerkbaits but I was wondering if anyone has thrown other treble hook baits with the jerkbait special? 3/8 - 1/2 shallow cranks, medium cranks, square bill, or lipless? I really like the look of it and mine hasnt had an issue b...

Thanks guys. Maybe I'll give it a try on my days off. If it doesn't workout you might see a cheap sv105 in the classifieds lol

Re: Alphas sv105
My sv105 really needed to be serviced from the factory. I upgraded the spool bearings to HH Air, cleaned and relubed the gears and worm shaft with SLP 104 grease, added a little oil to the pinion bearings because they were too stiff. I haven't had to update the sv ramp yet, but I have one waiting i...

Re: Alphas sv105
Thanks, I read through that. I don't think it's a line problem. I guess it could be the bearing needs to be flushed and oiled but I don't have a tool to get the shaft pin out so I can't do that yet. Could be the inductor thing too I guess. All I know is I don't have a problem with the steez sv tw, ...

Re: Alphas sv105
I have an alphas sv105 and I just can't seem to get it to cast well . I always read about how good they are which is why I bought one from Japan (used but looks basically new). I have read about the inductor sticking in some of them and some people changing the spring to a heavier spring so maybe t...

Separate question but would you take the tdz 103ml over the alphas sv105?

Re: Megabass jota slantbridge
Got to take it out yesterday for the first time. Threw square bills and jerkbaits with it. It is an awesome rod felt good with both. Feels like it is a very versatile rod, soft top but had a strong backbone too. Definitely my new jerkbait rod after yesterday. 6'4" was much easier to work with than 6...

Re: Help with my Sol
Since I last posted here I've acquired a zonda honeycomb spool, thanks Winstondry, and IMO it is made for use with ML-M rods, 1/8-5/8oz or more, 8-14# or 20-40# braid. It is awesome for spinnerbaits, keitechs, and other typical bass baits that aren't particularly aerodynamic. I haven't tried skippi...

Re: Help with my Sol
Well I'll have to give it a try then. O have another spool of like to change bearings on as well so I guess it would be worth the investment.hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 6:09 pmYeah, it's easy if you have a tool. I use Boca pliers, but the Hedgehog tool works fine, too.
Thanks for all the help guys
