The bigger question is why do people mug face it and try to look tough when taking pictures with a fish?
I think it's because they're afraid that their wives will figure out how much fun they're having!

Re: Savage Gear Introduces New Fishing Rods for 2018 - Meet the Browser Series

Np, been getting a lot of emails since the preview went live. The rods are certainly priced to move and there are a lot of Savage Gear fans that have been waiting for a rod to toss all of the company's many topwater and big baits. I have a feeling that the 8 foot big bait rod is going to be a popul...

Re: TackleTour Autopsy: A Brat to the Balsa Core, the new Rapala BX Squarebill

Hahah then you probably know the properties of different wood materials better than anyone. When working on this autopsy I had to reach out to a lot of crankbait anglers that favor balsa, including ones that still build their own balsa baits and won't fish anything else. Sure, there is the marketin...

Re: TackleTour Autopsy: A Brat to the Balsa Core, the new Rapala BX Squarebill

Balsa historically has been a really good material but as mentioned in the autopsy it does have limitations. Why it is still used in the core is for consistency. Like I duscussed in the autopsy the same properties of a complete balsa bait is what Rapala is trying to achieve, only with enhanced dura...

Re: TackleTour Autopsy: A Brat to the Balsa Core, the new Rapala BX Squarebill

Cal, I understand that the copolymer coating coating makes the balsa more durable, and allows for better paint jobs, but, other than filling the inner void, what purpose does the balsa serve? Mark Maybe ask the editor who wrote the article ;) My guess is buoyancy Well, I thought, since you we...

Thanks Cal.
I don't see them on the pictures on TW now, so I guess they quit adding them.

Re: Spro's Mike McClelland McStick 95 Rip Bait

Any particular reason why you use both a split ring and a snap simultaneously on this lure? [-X I use snaps all the time. Makes switching between baits (to compare actions) and colors easier and I always snap to the line tie not the split ring. I don't bother taking the split rings off because some...

Re: First Tests and a Look Inside the 13 Fishing Concept Z - Zero Ball Bearing Baitcaster

What does it say about me that I even like the name of the color, with apologies to Jeffrey Lebowski. If my memory serves me correctly, tequila sunrise is a color that is more of a black and purple. At least that is the color of my Charlies Worms anyways. This color looks more like a orange to me. ...
