Re: Stren Original vs Sufix Siege (stretch)
I know Original is fairly low stretch, 24% as per Pure Fishing's specs. Don't know about Siege though. Both are very abrasion resistant though. If you don't need abrasion resistance, Trilene XL is slightly lower stretch at 23% and should be a little more sensitive, but I don't know if you would noti...

Re: Copoly with = stretch to fluoro?
They stretch at different rates... at low tension (bites), fluoro is very low stretch. This is what makes fluoro so sensitive. On a high load, such as near the breaking point, fluoro stretch is in the same range as mono. That said, different brands/models of fluoros/monos can have very different ult...

Re: I'm pretty sure Fluorocarbon is BS...
The tests I've seen on fluoro's invisibility are still photos which do not show fluoros' strong point. In use, SOME fluoro reflects less light AT CERTAIN ANGLES, breaking up the lines pattern, similar to what camouflaged mono does... in short, at some angles, portions of the line will become less vi...

Re: Micro Guides
Yes, split-grip rods have been around for some time... I purchased a production split-grip rod in the early 90's. They have just become standard now. I don't know what's going to become of micro guides... I'll admit, all my company rods are micros, but I'm a small nitch manufacturer... if they go ma...

X-Point hooks would be a nice inclusion in a poll.

Re: Daiwa Fuego vs Abu Garcia Revo Premier ( Spinning)
I really don't see the point of buying a Revo... I mean, it's mostly plastic, and not the lightest in it's price range? The Daiwas' seem to be the smoothest because they have the lowest gear ratios... the Certate is so smooth that it does not even feel like you are fishing with a reel after a while,...

Re: Spinning reel under $100
The Shimano Elf. 2000 = 8.8 oz., 2500 = 9 oz., All aluminum, including the rotor (more sensitive than a graphite [plastic] rotor), and a low 5:1 gear ratio for smoothness. That's the best I see under $100... everything else I have looked at is either heavier, or has a higher gear ratio, or has a pla...
