Re: What are your thoughts?
I haven't fished the Helios but I have been using the Komdo for about 3 months. I like the color and frame better plus it had a faster gear ratio. I have really only been fishing jigs and t-rigs with it. I am not sure what reel it compares to but the only complaint I have with the the reel is access...

Re: Why are most finesse casting rods 7' or shorter?
Some are shorter due to the fact the manufacturer is trying to keep the weight down for anglers wanting to add a light weight finesse casting reel to help keep total combined weight to a minimum. Also baits like shaky heads, small weightless plastics and drop shots aren't baits where long casts are ...

Re: New senko rod. DX703C, Z-Bone LE3 7' or BCR853 GLX
I have fished the 703dx as weightless bait rod and while I thought it was solid I didn't like the tip as much. The 743 is your best choice for moderate to heavy cover. If you throw some 4 inch baits on there or lures that don't weigh as much the 742 dx is good in sparse/limited cover. I know it wasn...

Crank'n with a TDZ 100M?
I was hoping to get some feedback from some of the folks on here that have used this very reel for cranks (1/4 - 5/8oz). I will be matching this reel up with dobyns 705 CB glass fast action rod. I would not be doing much deep cranking...mostly depths of 3-12 feet 95% of the time. I am also looking a...

Re: New jig n worm rod
I would look at Powell or phenix as well. The sensitivity and performance would be a nice step up. The dobyns savy series rods are solid but the other 2 would be better choices at that price point.
As the OP noted you can't go wrong with the cumara line.

Re: Looking at a Cumara BUT......
I would agree with the above about the 7 foot 2 MH extra fast rod's versatility. It is a great jig and bigger Texas rig rod. It is pretty stout and does best with 3/8oz and above lure/rig weights. For a rod with a bit more tip that has the foam grips the phenix recon 714 has been a solid rod that ha...

Re: Is it Daiwa, Shimano, or someone else?
A few comments... For reels under the $250 price point I prefer shimano all the way. When the price exceeds $250 it is close toss up between Shimano and Daiwa but what puts Daiwa over the top would be more choices and more customizing options. Recently picked up an Okuma Komodo and have been very im...

Re: invizx
Sorry to hear of some negative experiences. I have been using invisix for 2 years now on all but a few of my outfits. Have landed many good sized fish in moderate cover with no issue. Casting and sensitivity seems to be as good as you can expect for $20 line. Have yet to have any knot issues line or...

Re: Dobyns DX742C opinions
I was in a similar position a week ago and pulled the trigger on that very rod. I was looking for a full handle and a rod that didn't have micro guides for finesse fishing moderate cover. I took it for a spin this morning and couldn't be happier. As others have noted a rod that excels in application...

I too have ordered rods and reels from them. Great folks and the order arrived promptly. Will be doing business again with them very soon!
