Re: Bearing cleaning in ultrasonic cleaner
I use them all the time, and even had the exact same ultrasonic cleaner that you have. After you pull them out of a cleaner, some do feel rougher than they should be (not all of them, tho. bunch of my hedgehog and zpi bearings are perfectly smooth and silent after a bath). But after use, the roughne...

Re: Reel Dress Up Parts?
All my reels have custom stuff on them. Handle and knobs is the minimum. And you can get good deals on ebay, or order directly from Japan. Quality stuff made in Japan is of course much more expensive than some no name brands on Ali, tho.

Re: Red Zillion SV TW 1000.
What kind of a sane person uses a quality carbon handle with that kind of nut retainers? :laugh1: It looks like one of those cheap chinease handles that sort of look like an RCS carbon. Still the plastic nut retainer is dumb. I bet Daiwa got a lot of negative feedback from the US about the colored ...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
One thing for sure, look at the price increase since this thread was created. I recently had the same thought. However, they are still much cheaper than ZPI and KTF. Even at current prices, they still offer a solid cost-to-performance ratio (imo). That's the thing, when you buy zpi, ktf, i'ze facto...

You can maybe find the parts needed such as the spool on the this forum in the buy/sell section.

Re: New pixy
With these prices, imagine if the IMZ is released in NA. Probably $1900 for the reel
Re: New pixy
Wanted to make a thread about it a few weeks ago when i originally saw it, but then i aked myself what's the point? A Pixy is: Finnesse speced, colorful and made out of magnesium. What are we getting this time around? An Alphas from years ago. That is not how you revive an OG, Daiwa. And considering...

Re: Are you using any Chinese manufactured reels?
I'm still using a made in China Daiwa Caldia 2000-sized spinning reel. Aside from a couple of the design features that I don't like (just personal preferences regarding the non-folding handle and the rotor design), the reel's held up well over the years. That's no noname brand. The likes of daiwa a...

Re: Are you using any Chinese manufactured reels?
The Piscifun Alloy M reel is a solid option. I wouldnt pay the $90 full price for it, but for the $66 shipped that I paid for it, its a good reel. It was never slick-smooth, but again, still a good reel for what I paid. I suspect that the lower ratio reels would be smoother. Mine is 8.4 ratio. Have...

Re: New Tatula is $100
What's the issue with the plastic top piece? If its made like the Zillion, the metal frame will be underneath it. All that plastic piece does is help you in cold weather. I had one on a zillion crack just putting the reel back together. I was able to repair it, but it should have never broken like ...

Re: ZPI back to making spools?
I kinda don't trust a brand that began selling some $70 noname reels for $300. It'll be happening even if you don't believe it, most likely raw product made there and packed in J-a-Pan and it gets a "Made In Japan" sticker and pricetag to boot. How else are they to stay viable in today's climate? I...
