For people that do throw light (~1/8oz) lures on casting reels, I'm curious as to why you use a BC over a spinning reel? I know there are people that despise spinning reels and avoid them at all cost, but other than that I don't see an advantage to use a casting reel over spinning with light line/l...

I usually like to fish spinning gear if I'm going to fish deeper, because i can just flip the bail an let the lure go strait to the bottom. If its really windy, sure spinning gear is easier with the really light stuff. But if i'm trolling along the shore and want more accurate casts i prefer a bait ...

I tried one one time. You get what you pay for the quality is no where near gloomis They are an ok rod. The rod that I bought was the mh spinning and it fished like a m rod. I ended up taking it back.

Bass pro shop brand has a decent selection of floating worms.

How about the Dobyns DX 703c? It sounds like it would make a good general purpose rod, what about buzzbaits?
Been thinking about getting one to go with my dx 704 to round out my rod selection.

How much performance gain is there in an alphas vs sol? My sol with abec 9s in it seems to to a pretty good job.

What do you use for a buzzbait rod? My only 7.1:1 reel is on my shimano crucial crankbait rod 7ft MH, so I tied on a buzzbait to try it out, it seemed to work pretty good. Just wanted to get an idea what a good buzzbait rod is.
