Re: Chronarch D and Curado 100D difference
Those Curado D's also only had bushing in the drive shaft.

Re: Oil of choice for bearings?
Anybody tried xtreme reel plus? Looks like it bonds then dries leaving coat to protect without the fancy price tag. If it does what it states http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Xtreme_Reel_Plus_Lubricant/descpage-XRL.html I do...don't know how it compares to the other lubes, but I know it makes all my ...

Re: Uneven line lay when spooling BC reels
The first few line lay on the spool's arbor makes all the difference. Start the line wrap from one end of the spool.

I always thought an Ugly Stick was a perfect example of a rod with more tip...more tip section - more flex.

balsa pro is sweet-but can't find; have caught monster on mega bass pro-x; lucky craft 100 always works; question is, does anything catch more fish than the original spook??? LOL depends...any given day, one will outperform the other... http://www.idofishing.com/groups/files/48/1284616759...

Re: Trout Opener Approaching
Our stream trout season has just open last week. For one thing that I did a little different this year was last year's hot lure of kastmasters wasn't producing well. The hot lure was a Yozuri Pins Minnow and a Storm Hopper Popper. Love the topwater action.

Re: Good spinning reel for $200.00
I think each manufacture has their own solution or concept to the bail wire. Quantum with their titanium bail wires. Diawa's with their air bail wire. From what I've seen, those Mitchell 300 spinning reels has the thickest bail wire of all. There is the thought that putting a much stronger bail wire...

Re: Good spinning reel for $200.00
Bail wire was never meant to be leveraged to open the bail assembly. LOL :laugh1: How do you propose I open the bail then when it does not have one of those quick open bail things? There is not many places to apply leverage to open the bail. Even with that argument, if the reel is resting on its ba...

Re: Cleaning Spool Bearings
Not that I've ever timed mine after a soak in acetone, but I think about 5 minutes spin dry. Then again I like to just sit there and spin them dry. Just to watch how much longer they spin and how much noisier they sound.

Re: 3rd. spool bearing on a Chronarch 101D7
The spool pin on the spool shaft goes into the pinion gear. The pinion gear is supported by a bearing. You should just see the inner race/ring of the pinion supported bearing where the spool is removed.

Re: reel casting side by side tests?
The mechanics of the spinning reel is more about line management for trouble free casting. I don't think I ever really heard of someone complaining about their casting distance on them. I just say, get a longer rod, use lighter line, or use heavier lure. LOL. A tumbling lure on a spinning ...

It's amazing how an ice fisherman can't get a shallow spool for their spinning reels.

Re: Curado201e7: The devastating Line Guide BNT3922
Don't get me wrong, but it just sounds like intentional incorrect method to clear a backlash. I still don't understand how a backlashed line could be pulled from the wrong angle to catch the plastic parts of the levelwind line guide.
