Re: Shimano Quality difference between USA/Japan
We use the sales of the right hand models to offset the cost of tooling to make the left hand version. <snip> The left hand models might be available in Japan. I'm a bit confused by this. Haven't you said that the SIC and SAC reels are made together? If the tooling has been done for a SIC lefty the...

151 views is different than 10 poeple asking for it.
I guess I don't need to say that you can add me to the number of people wanting super tuning bad enough to pay for it.

Re: Shimano Quality difference between USA/Japan
I think your crazy to buy a flagship shimano reel from Japan over a US model if you live in NA. A product can be of high quality , but a low grade. So I can see were Bantum can say with 100% certainty there is no difference in quality. I'm an outlaw...on a steel horse I ride. I didn't think t...

Re: Shimano Quality difference between USA/Japan
The JDm products that you guys are buying on the internet are grey market reels. Some wholesaler is selling them to shops here on the side and making a small profit on them. I just noticed this...are you saying Japan Tackle and Plat are selling grey market reels? I think lots of us think we are buy...

Re: Shimano Quality difference between USA/Japan
Well, I'd still like to know why 4x4SVS never made it to SAC. And I don't get to choose to be the dumb guy...I've earned the distinction.

Re: Life Expectation of any Shimano DC
Has Shimano changed the warranty on the Calcutta DCs or is it still for one year only? Can you give us any insight as to why Shimano made this exception in their standard warranty because this unnerved many when the DCs were introduced...myself included. BTW, I bought one anyway and now that I have ...

Re: Shimano Quality difference between USA/Japan
AmericanSkin, D.R. I second that! Agreed with the notable exception of the non-DC Conquest / Calcuttas. I do however get the impression SAC has a mental picture of tournament anglers as their target and I question that. I do understand that Dan is not going to recommend SIC products but also...

Re: Shimano Quality difference between USA/Japan
Why would you not trust what I have to say? Oh that's right EVERYONE is an expert on the internet  Trust me when I say our products are the same if not better. A Sustain is the same if not better than a TwinPower? The Chronarch Mg50 is the same if not better than a Scorpion Mg 1000 (despite 4...
