Re: new Tatula CT

Thanks for the updates GoBlue; the sv103 is on my list of must haves for 2016 as well so I appreciated the picture inclusion. no problem, i just wish I had a better camera and more tech smarts to post more efficiently. I don't know if its because im one of those stupid nostalgia driven consumers, b...

Re: new Tatula CT

It looks a lot like the lexa 100. I'm buying it as soon as I hear about it's side plate materials and casting capabilities. Its kinda similar to the lexa 100 in that the frame is a little longer front to back. However, I think the lexa 100 body is uniformly narrow from front to back, and as a resul...

Re: new Tatula CT

Buttermilk biscuits. Thx for the pics! How are you liking that SV103? I threw some line on the sv103 and thought, this is not a handsome reel. Nothing striking about it. Paint scheme is pedestrian. Heavy. Lack of clickies. Not very enthusiast. A month later its my favorite reel. Its seen more fish ...

Re: new Tatula CT

quick comparison pics ct vs 100typer2.jpg ct vs sv1032.jpg Sorry I can't post more pics... im such a tech novice that its taking so long to downsize these pics to fit. So the CT definitely feels smaller in hand vs the standard tat. Particularly, its much easier to wrap your fingers across the front ...

Telling screenshot there. from that perspective it does look significantly narrower. Another really cool thing in the video is they note they are using a smaller sp...

Re: new Tatula CT

The new Zillion SV TWS (and assuming the Tatula CT as well), have their overall reel height lowered by 4mm (foot of the reel raised into the body by 3mm, top of the frame lowered by 1mm)compared to the old model. This, combined with the width reduction makes it feel noticeably smaller in hand. Im s...

Re: new Tatula CT

Haven't held a new Tat yet, but if it's anything like the new Zillion, who apparently shares the same platform, it's definitely smaller. The Zillion felt completely different in hand from the previous gen. Not sure why you would assume the Tat CT wouldn't feel any different in hand. Also, what's th...

Re: new Tatula CT

The CT spools appear to have about the same capacity as the original Tatula spools. Are they the same? Is the frame significantly smaller? I have no clue about the spool, but don't think the frame is significantly smaller. I agree with bootytrain in that the base of the reel seems to have the width...

Re: new Tatula CT

If this is the same reel as the original tatulas just with
a smaller frame, why would anybody buy the bigger version
for 20 bucks more?

Re: Jig Rod

The Dobyns fury 734 or 735 would be a great choice in my opinion. In that price range, you aren't gonna get elite sensitivity or features, but with Dobyns you have the option of trading it in for an upgrade later should he choose to do so. Great warranty, and just good honest dudes running the compa...

Im a big fan of the Dobyns Champion 704cb in that range. nothing flashy, just got a
perfect action and gets the job done.
