Re: GLX 854 vs 844
I agree on the previous models, mostly the green model before 2016 it did not feel crisp in my hands, or as sensitive as other rods in the series. It was the same for the nrx 854 i just didnt think it was as sensitive as the other rods in the series. This being said i have not fished the 2016 854. i...

Re: New GLX rods
hey guys im wondering if the mbr 844 glx will do as a jig rod. i know there are more suitable tapers for jigs, but im wanting a more versatile rod that can also be used as a jig set up for 3/8- 1/2 oz casting jigs. I also plan to use it for 3/8 keitechs? or do i need to go with another model.

Re: Shimano Sustain FG vs. Stradic Ci4+
i had the sustain fg mounted on a nrx 852 and absolutely loved it. Was probably my favorite combo at the time especially around winter when the smallies where eating hair jigs i couldnt put it down. You will notice that the sustain is more refined than the ci4+ in the retrieve of the reel, but other...

Re: Help choosing a new rod
i had my mets on nrx rods and loved them. one of my favorite combos was the nrx 853 met i used it for smaller texas rigs, jigs, swim jigs, ext it was acually very versatile. I have not fished the mbr nrx but that rod would actually be more versatile for the cranks and what not due to the fast tip in...

Re: 852s - GLX vs NRX
i have had a couple of the 852 s nrx rods and have fished the glx somewhat but not much i ended up selling it. It wasn't because i didn't like it just had to many of the same combo. The glx is a little more softer in the tip in my hands anyway but in the end they were very comparable, but the tip wa...

Re: Megabass Orochi XX vs Expride vs New GLX??
Hey rick i have a few of the orochi xx rods and also have the new glx rods which i have used for a longer period of time on the water due to them coming out first. In my hands i will give the glx a tad better rating in the sensitivity department its not putting the xx to shame or anything but it doe...

Re: Am I crazy?!
i went that route before and i would strongly suggest not selling the rods you have. i am now back up to 9 combos lol where i sold all my fishing gear last year, so yeah i have to do some retying at the moment. At one point i had around 30 combos and like the above comment when you get past that num...
