Re: Question about trout spoons
The seatrout I target can get big, so I normally change the hooks to singles from VanFook. With standard trout the hooks are fine and sure does hook them...

Re: Question about trout spoons
I have the same spoons. I suggest you use the teardrop or oval / egging snaps. I have been especially happy with the Yamashita eggings snaps. Also Owner quick snaps. Or if you feel like paying a premium for a good product: https://japantackle.com/terminaltackle/ ... 00064.html

Re: Bad tackle thread (what to avoid)
I have been avoiding fishing items with adjectives in the name (deluxe/platinum/pro) and instead sought things with difficult to pronounce names (daiwa zillion sv tw).

Re: Shimano Conquest 101dc gone BFS with GranBlue link
Please let us know how it casts, I checked out their site, but its all in Japanese, I am interested in spare spools for a Metanium and Conquest DC200 but I wish I knew how to translate their site to English. Also, you waited 6-8 months to get it? Why did it take them this long? You can use the tran...

Shimano Conquest 101dc gone BFS with GranBlue link
I previously posted on a new spool manufacturer in Japan: http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=87891 I placed an order for a Shimano Conquest 101 DC Bfs spool during early summer. The guys at GranBlue link have kept me posted on the status of the spool with an email from time to time, and ...

Re: Does anyone own the Abu Ultracast BF8
My brother has it. He is not that impressed. He and I use a lot of Shimano, Daiwa and ABU reels. His fave ABU is the Revo ALC - non-BFS version (you can get BFS aftermarket spools for it incl DIY). Generally, I prefer Shimano and Daiwa especially when it comes to low profile reels (not having tried ...

Re: ZPI Global
Most recently Is that a ZPI spool? If it is, I think it's funny because I remember a comment on Facebook a while back where Tsuyoshi Kato was bad mouthing BFS spools with holes in them. The context of his comments came in a post where a Facebook friend of mine damaged a KTF spool when removin...

Re: Favorite artificial lures/ baits for mountain trout (UL)
1. An inline spinner. I have tried them all - or get close at least. Prefer a Mapso/Lukris Ory or Reder, which are very similar to Mepps Comet and Aglia. Ilba Tondo also similar. Yes, Panther Martin are nice and I use them from time to time. Rooster Tails are “OK” - I have many and rarely use them…....
