Re: Ultralight minnow baits

I can't speak from experience as to the ability of barbless hooks to hold crappies, but will suggest that you use straight fluorocarbon or nylon mono when trying this rather than braid with a leader, as superlines pose a greater risk of tearing holes in those paper mouths. I hope that we'll hear fro...

I struggle with the Torzites from a cost standpoint. For the big jump in price, I would expect a ceramic that out performs SiC in every category, but that's not the case.
In what category/ies do SIC guides outperform Torzites?

I’ll have to pick up the even smaller Teeny Torpedo to try....
Try this lure when a wind is blowing off a grassy shoreline where grasshoppers are plentiful. The hooks are small, but I've landed two three-pound smallies that took a Teeny Torp near the riverbank under these circumstances

Use Rim oil.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, but did you mean Rem oil? :)

If by "this" you mean an ambiguously worded post with no link, getting only this response after 53 views suggests an answer.

How can I clean a soft touch reel seat gone sticky?

I just pulled out of storage two Cabelas baitcast rods with soft touch reel seats that, for reasons unknown to me, have developed a gooey, sticky coating on the soft touch reel seats. These rods were purchased about a decade ago, were used only a few outings each (I think without sunscreen or insect...

Re: Scatter Raps?

I bought three different versions and went fishless on all. Possibly a case of having expectations too high and setting them aside too soon, but I haven't read of these lures winning any pro tournaments....

Re: The Highest Example – The Edge Epitome Rods from Gary Loomis

I've noticed that, but NFC says this: "THE PRICE ($150) WILL BE THE LOWEST PRICE THAT THIS BLANK WILL EVER BE AVAILABLE AT. DUE TO FIBER ALLOCATION/SUPPLY AFTER THE INITIAL PRE-ORDER, THEY WILL NEVER BE ON SALE."

Re: The Highest Example – The Edge Epitome Rods from Gary Loomis

Now I'm really confused! The text promoting these blanks says they sent TackleTour a rod built on one, and it links to Zander's review. That review said the finished rods will retail for $295. But the NFC web page offering the blanks for sale says the unfinished blanks will have a normal retail pric...

Dan B,
I, too, couldn't find these rods on the Edge site last night.

Re: The Highest Example – The Edge Epitome Rods from Gary Loomis

Curious which casting models will sport the full length grip as mentioned in the article. I'm trying to find out this as well and talking to the team about the final configurations for all the rods. I'm also a fan of the solid grip if the balance is right and that swimbait stick has me very intrigu...

Re: The Highest Example – The Edge Epitome Rods from Gary Loomis

Cal, Are all the guides on this rod Recoils, or just the running guides? If the stripper guide is a Recoil, did you try casting with a leader knot of, say, 30 lb. (or heavier) braid and 15 lb. (or heavier) leader of nylon mono or fluorocarbon? (I have some concern about whether leader knots would pa...
