The scorpion 21 I was looking at on ebay sold, my z2020h is going to fish again, and I found a gancraft tatula mango I forgot about buying off another TT member, looks like I need to be rod shopping

Re: Scorpion DC vs SLX DC
... if I buy an slx it'll be the jdm xt version the us version does have dc-4. Then really only the '17 Scorp DC is comparable because the '21 Scorp DC is a 150 sized reel. It all depends on your intended application and more importantly, preferred line at that point. So the 17 and the 21 scorpions...

Re: Shoes?
My older Salomon were great, my newer ones not so much, I do like my Keen fishing shoes. Columbia has some PFG shoes for boats now that I did like but they don't seem to last.

Re: Looking for a specific saltwater spinning reel maintenance tutorial: Alan Tani
Years ago, I remember coming across a detailed spinning reel maintenance tutorial for reels used in saltwater. Alan Tani was the guy who did it but I can't find it now. Does anyone happen to have it bookmarked? Thanks in advance! You sure it wasn't Alan hawk? https://www.alanhawk.com/blog/care.html

Re: upcoming trip
Catching your first redfish will be addicting, when I first started inshore fishing I just used my bass fishing combos until I got serious with it. As stated above ml and m for trout, m for slot reds, my for the overslots. My go to baits for reds are chatterbaits with gold blades and smaller swimbai...

Re: The Highest Example – The Edge Epitome Rods from Gary Loomis
The carbon grips, lack of winding checks and that epoxy work on the reel seat are vile. Just sell blanks Gary. Step away from the rod blanks and close the mud hole tab. https://i.ibb.co/1bNZSBV/6014d54b619a6.jpg I mean you arent wrong and I am seriously starting to feel the same way Thats a bold st...

Re: Do you plan on buying the iPhone of reels aka the Z Limitbreaker?
It's neat but not worth the $$$ to me but I hope it does mean the z2020 making a comeback as I need plat to get parts in stock so the tackle trap can get mine back rolling to go alongside my deps one. Some says that Z2020 is on 2023 cataloque and back in the production. https://www.daiwa.com/jp/fis...

I've heard some bad experiences with aluminum gears but I have to say my steez A has been most impressive.

For handle bearings I usually just get stainless bearings from TRB RC, they even have cheap ceramics that actually are pretty decent for the money.

Re: Daiwa SV103 vs Zillion SV TW
You can purchase the 7.9 gears from the JDream on plat. They are part 38/52 and are sold as a set for 3630yen. https://www.plat.co.jp/shop/catalog/optionparts/language/en/manufacturers/1/siries/15/ I've purchased several sets. I also bought the the 6.3 out of the PE Special as they are the C6 Bronz...
