Re: are there any shimanos with aluminum alloy gears?

I don't recall any. If there was, I don't remember. I hate aluminum gears, they just don't feel smooth to me.

Re: Curado 100d or 50e

Both great reels. It depends on what you mean by "light" Texas rigs. For lets say a 6" soft plastic and a 1/32oz weight, I would rather use the 50E. The 100D is good for light baits as well, I personally think the 50E excels at it.

Re: If you could have only one reel...

I love my Curado50E. Pair it to a Compre 6'8 MHF and its a great all around fair priced setup.

Im seeing a pattern with forums that this is a common thing. Starting to make me not like fishing forums. Its a shame.

Re: Revo MGXtreme

An ounce or two is not gonna kill you unless you are just the weakest out of shape person in the world. way to bash & insinuate that were all weakling wusses for those of use that like light balanced & higher end gear. you stick with your Sellus rods and enjoy your poop sticks while we have the ple...

Re: Revo MGXtreme

have you ever fished with a combo that weighs 8-9 oz? for a feel presentation, it is pretty amazing what the lack of mass in your hand feels like when you get a bite as for being a wimp... well, if my 1-2 oz rod reel combo means i am a little less fatigued at the end of a day and i can get a couple...

Re: curado 200e vs chronarch 200e difference

Not to bust your hump, but do you measure the thickness with a micrometer? Do you really know if maybe they are thicker or thinner, or are you sure they are all consistant. This is what I am getting at as saying that maybe they have solved a problem with resizing the shims or washers used. Perhaps ...

Re: curado 200e vs chronarch 200e difference

I purchased 5 Curado E7's at once when they were released. Out of the 5 ... 3 were smoother then the other 2 so sold them off and kept the 3. This was after complete tear downs, cleanings, relubing, and removal of anti revers pawls with break in time. I have several models that I have multiple reel...

Re: curado 200e vs chronarch 200e difference

I do feel a difference from my Curado and Chronarch Es. I dont know why, but I do feel thwy are smoother and tighter. I flush my spool bearings and open every reel to make sure they are lubed right, so I know its not disguised by overgreasing. Have someone blindfold you and hand you a mix of both r...

Re: Revo MGXtreme

Im gonna say that I understand where he is coming from. Aluminum gears and all do account to be lighter, but reels that have them tend to be either noisey or not as smooth as with brass type. I dont get the weight savings hype, to me its a sales pitch to get people to pay the money for it. An ounce ...
