Re: Steez A vs Shimano Bantam
I have both a Steez A and a Bantam. If you had asked me last Saturday which of the two to chose, based on your technique mentioned, I would have said “hands down the Bantam” due to its incredible rigidity and power, which I’m sure would be of interest to you if you frequently haul big fish from heav...

Shimano US video. Aaron Martens brings up a subtle but good point, which will go past most non-Bantam owners...”Its warmer” My hands freeze with my Bantam in cold weather, even with gloves https://youtu.be/d-si3y2UXw4 Interesting to see Martens w/a Gloomis rod. ;) But as someone whole still loves t...

Re: Dobyns Xtasy power question
I know this will probably fall on deaf ears but if you’re fishing 1/2oz football heads in 30-40 fow you’re going to have a hard time setting the hook with even the 755. I fished my 755 with jigs in 15-20’ of water and unless I did a full on flipping hookset, the tip would just not bury the hooks...y...

Re: Most specific chatterbait rod
I throw 1/2oz Jack Hammers a crazy amount of time and have used composites in the past but just do not like their extra weight nor the slow action. The finest open water to mild grass bladed jig rod I’ve ever used and continue to use is a G-rod Pro Bass 7’ Med/Hvy. Awesome tip to backbone transition...

Re: LOOKING FOR Below 4oz Bass Casting Rod
http://www.tackletour.com/reviewphenixFTX71MH.html Phenix Feather 7'1 MH is what your looking for. Under $200, weighs 3.2 oz on my scale, good balance. It's rated MH but it's actually medium. Ya beat me to it. It was the first rod I thought of when reading what the OP was looking for. Not only unde...

Re: Looking for the opposite of suspend dots
If you are trying to reduce weight while maintaining hook gap, consider using plugging hooks (single hook with large eye in the same plane as the bend, designed to slip into a split ring). You could probably even go up one size in gap while reducing weight. A risk of any hook change, though, is tha...

Re: Looking for the opposite of suspend dots
Those floating Carolina rig things shaped like bullet weights may be worth a look. I have those! Both in black and white. Probably bought them 15+ years ago. What I like about your idea is that they can easily be cut and trimmed with a razor to the size and shape I would need. I’ll do some tests th...

Re: Looking for the opposite of suspend dots
you might try palsa stick on strike indicators. I did a google search on those and though the colors are brighter than the sun those are visually what I was thinking of. Permanent marker could mask the fluorescent colors. I may give those a try but the suggestion regarding the floating bullet weigh...

Re: Looking for the opposite of suspend dots
An idea I also had and happened to have some on hand. The stuff I had absorbed water and made it sink faster, lol. Maybe a stop at the depot will yield some non-moisture absorbing foam but I’m not optimistic. Thanksy2k88 wrote:Foam tape?

Looking for the opposite of suspend dots
I’m looking for what I can only describe as float dots, lol. Something I can add to the top of shallow diving suspending or slow sinking jerkbaits and make them slow float. Even if you don’t know of an actual fishing related product but something that would work, I’d appreciate the tips. I have a fe...

Re: Live Target's Skip Shad & Twitch Minnow
Thanks for posting this. I love soft jerks post spawn and also skipping docks with them. They do look very interesting and I will give them a try once I put the hard jerkbaits away and post my thoughts on these. You probably won't see a TT review of these for quite sometime. Some baits, like the Dar...

Speaking solely for myself here; I will remember you and all the affected families when I pray. Prayer changes things-maybe not always solving the problem in ...

Re: Antares 2019?
Tactical Bassin just released a YouTube video talking about the new Antares. It was more like a Shimano ad than a review. I wish they would have talked more in-depth about it like casting distance, ergonomics, etc. They used to be pretty objective about their gear, but within the past year they hav...
