Versatile rod
Looking for a versatile rod that I can use for t-rigs and 1/2-5/8oz crankbaits. Not wanting to spend any more than $300. I'm mostly using shallow water crankbaits and rat-l-traps.

Re: What is your favorite Reel/Spool for 5" Senko Fishing?
I have a purple alpha 103 on a nrx 893 and it works great for weightless senko and I also use it for casting skinny dippers.

Re: Best flipping jigs
I use the Dirty Jigs Tour Level No-Jack Flipping jigs. They work great down here in Florida. If fishing around boat docks go with a 1/2oz and a netbait paca chunk or a baby brush hog for a trailer. Around grass go with a 3/4oz and a strike king rage tail shellcracker for a trailer. Just make sure yo...

Re: Loomis for soft swim baits?
I don't think it would be a problem. I use the NRX 893 to cast a skinny dipper and love it. I've pulled some big fish out of some thick lily pads down here in Florida and have never had a problem. So I think the GLX would work just fine.

Re: Some Lake Seminole froggin fun(picture heavy)
Nice pics... Do you guys have trouble with gators? We usually catch a few 2-3 footers each trip because they blend right in with the grass. The funny thing is, when we see a big gator on the bank or in the grass, we fish the area hard and usually catch some real nice fish in the area. Use them as a...

I'm sure you will love it. Can't wait to read your review on the rod. I have the 895 and have to say this rod is great. Pull big fish out of some nasty stuff with no problem.

Re: swimbait rod
Is there a swimbait rod that would work for 1-5oz lures in the $300 range. I was looking at the Daiwa Zillion TDZL741XHFB and read the review and sounds like a good rod for the price. I was also looking at the Gloomis SWBR955 but saw that the rating was from 2-5oz. Wanted to know if anyone has trie...
