Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!

The 821 was just delivered. It’s almost if the 901 and 822 DSR had a baby. The top 20% of the rod’s blank is like the 822 DSR with a soft tip and the rod loads down into the stripper guides like a 901. I think it will be an awesome rod for throwing smaller floating Rapalas, creek fishing smallmouth,...

didn't find rod weight for this one so I post it here:

DAIWA STEEZ AGS 76MMLFS - 4.4 OZ/124 GRAM, well balanced either with QANQUISH 2500 or CERTATE 2500
Thought I read 3.5oz for this rod? Was this the old style?
My old version was 2 grams lighter so likely the old version.

Re: Smoothest gear grease.

Some of you guys have gone down a rabbit hole with this stuff. Is there a law of diminishing returns on the grease and oil? How much better is some of this stuff than ZPI grease and HH oil? I clean my reels during the winter and apply new grease and oil. They seem to stay smooth and functional at t...

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!

I ordered the 821 ned rig rod. I’ll put up a comparison post when I get the rod. I have quite a few NRX and NRX+ models to compare it to including 901, 822 DSR, and 872. I also had a 852 at one time.

I ended up ordering the NRX+ ned rig rod. It will be interesting to see what the taper is really like.

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!

Broke a NRX 853c back in early May, was totally my fault. Did the xpeditor back then and finally got a replacement in the mail today, a NRX+ 853. New handle is comfortable, I like the hook keeper down by the butt of the rod and the wrapping is still mediocre. Guess I'll see how it feels next weeken...

Re: Recommend a Rod

A selfish rec based on my own curiosity - the Poison Glorious 2610L/MH, or the Adrena 2610UL/M. Very curious to see the tip to blank transition on these rods. Sounds like you can flick out tiny weightless plastics with the tip but launch heavier baits if you load the backbone. I thought about the A...

Re: Recommend a Rod

820S is a very light power rod. I had the glx version and it could handle very light DS and other light finesse. It is XF but did not remind me of the 852S whatsoever. Its a really cool stick though. If you hooked a 2lber the blank looked like it was going to crack in half lol. It was almost a bass...

Ever skip docks with a senko? Jerkbait on a spinning rod? I like long rods as well, but sometimes something in the 6'8" range is nice to have. GLX 802?
Do the 802s have a stiff tip like the 852s?

Re: St Croix

If the blanks are great then I'll gladly support a US company and buy their blanks and build a rod. I've never built a rod before but if this is the bar they set then I am certain I can beat it. Incorporating the fore grip into the lock nut to hide those threads and sticking a few winding checks on...

Re: Recommend a Rod

Might help to know what techniques you want to fish with this combo... but also, if you have NRX and Steez AGS on the list, I'd nix the Zodias and IMX Pro ;) Apologies... I read that list as sticks you were considering, missing the fact those are sticks you already have. Yeah. Those are ones ...

Recommend a Rod

I ended up with a C3000XH Vanford in a trade and it needs a home. I have quite the extensive spinning rod collection already, so I'm a little lost on what to get. Current Bass Spinning Rods 7'6 Steez AGS MML (X2) 872 NRX (X2) 822 DSR NRX (X2) 853 IMX Pro 901 NRX 7'6 light Zodias I fish inland lakes ...

Re: K2 model for jigS

The 765 power is like a 893.75 power in the NRX line. It would be able to handle 1/2 oz jig and trailer. The rod isn't nearly as fast as a 893 or 894 though.
