Thank you, that was the answer I was looking for. So I'm not really gaining much if I buy an Alpha SV TW

You would be gaining a really great reel. I love the two I own. Still smooth as the day I got them, even after fishing them pretty hard for two years.

Daiwa Tatula 7'3" Swimbait rod users

Anyone out there throwing the Daiwa Tatula 7'3" Swimbait rod? It's rated to 4oz and has a regular action. I'll be wanting to use it with S-Waver 168, 6" Magdrafts with 3/4oz belly hook, 6.8" Kietech with 3/8 or 3/4oz belly hook. So basically swim baiting, but not really big ones. Most of the baits I...

The rod you're describing is the GLX 852c JWR. It's perfect

Just bought an NRX+ 842c MBR and will put an Alberan BFS on it just for mainly small tubes and Ned rigs. I fish spinning for small stuff but like to switch back and forth from spinning to casting during the day
You will dig it!

Re: New NRX / GLX

I've been using a current version of the GLX 842c MBR for light stuff for a while, and it GREAT! I have an Alphas Air TW on it, and it casts Neds and light shaky heads great, it's super sensitive, and light as a feather. It's my favorite shaky head set up I have ever used. For Neds I use 8lb FC lead...

Re: Casting Ned Rig rod

I use a conquest and glx 842c but the lowest weight is 1/10 oz net + trd My favorite new Ned and Shaky head set up is a GLX 842 and an Alphas Air TW, 8lb braid to 8lb FC leader for Neds and 10lb with a shaky head. It's such a great combo. It can do everything on the lighter side.they should be rate...

Re: Shimano Poison Ultima Baitcasting 1610L-BFS

I've been looking at this rod as well. Does anyone know how this compares to Steez RD 631ML FB or the NRX 802C that I'm currently using for 1/8 - 3/16 jigs/tubes It's going to be lower in power than the NRX 802C, and I believe the 1610L would be too weak to handle a 3/16 jig or a normal 3.5"sized t...

I would go with the 7'1" Phenix Feather ML or Cashion ICON ML rod.
The Feather has a little faster action that hits the backbone a little faster.
Both are nice
How does the 7’1” ML Feather compare to the Phenix Classic BFS?
Not sure, I haven't fished the Classic BFS rod.

Shimano SLX BFS thoughts

Been interested in the SLX BFS reel for bass BFS fishing. 1/8-1/4oz baits with braid.
Any opinions on the reel? It will go on a Phenix Feather L rod.

Thx

Re: Daiwa Alphas Air TW line

I ended up using some 8lb original PP, and it's been working great. I filled the spool about 3/4 of the way, and it's been casting really well.
