Re: Sub 250.00 reel
Never tried a Zillion but own numerous tatula's, chronarch mgl and a bantam mgl. By far my favorite is the Tatula sv. While not quite as smooth as the bantam it casts effortlessly, easy clutch and truly a "set and forget" reel. My experience with the chronarch mgl was super smooth than became a lit...

Re: Help with a baitcaster
What’s the difference between the tat type R, and the tat type r ct, or the Fuego CT, I’m definitely going to get a daiwa now The CT frames are more compact based on what I've heard. They're supposed to palm better because of the smaller profile. As far as the Fuego CT goes, I've heard it's the exa...

Re: Aldebaran MG7 anti-reverse bearing/inner tube
The handle still moves and the spool will actually rock forward a hair if I try to push the handle backwards

Re: Aldebaran MG7 anti-reverse bearing/inner tube
I tried tightening the nut as well as checking the ARB, but neither could fix the play in the handle. Is there anything else I can check before shelling out for a new ARB?

Re: What's next for Shimano???
Hopefully less additional options in regard to "brake tuning". Those dials or what ever are for the birds. I find those to be quite annoying. I'm sure I'm in the minor on that one. I sold my 13' Metanium and other early applicable models during this era that included that useless added brake adjust...

Re: What's next for Shimano???
If Shimano's pattern of updating reels after three years holds (Met 13 vs Met MGL, Curado I vs Curado K), then we might get lucky this year and see a new metanium come out

Re: aftermarket knobs for shimano casting reels
I've never found a knob that I've liked quite as much as the knobs off the chronarch mgl, which are also the same knobs that are on the metanium mgl. I'm not sure if they're septon or not, but they're grippy and very comfortable

Re: Aldebaran MG7 anti-reverse bearing/inner tube
Hopping on this thread for my own question about the Core:
Is the ARB supposed to be hard to remove? I don't want to force it out but it also sounds like I may need to replace mine based on the play in the handle.

Re: Best grease and oil for servicing reels. 2019 edition.
I recently started servicing my own reels and Penn's blue grease has really impressed me so far. No idea how long it'll last compared to the more popular greases, though. As far as oil goes, I like the Bantam oil Shimano includes with their reels. It works well enough and I haven't seen any problems...

Re: Where are the shimanos?
Nothing done to these reels yet but I have a new gearset, drag washers, and handle nut to install on the Core. I’m also dropping bearings onto the levelwinds in all of the reels that will take a bearing.

Re: New knife
Any recommendations on a carry blade for me ??? I'm not a knife aficionado by any means but I do carry a folding knife daily out of a habit that I picked up from my summer job the past few years. I've only ever used Kershaw but there are definitely a bunch of better knives out there. I carried the ...

Handle upgrade for Core 50mg7
Picked up a new (used) Core recently and I hate how short the handle is. I’d like to put the Chronarch MGL handle on it but I can’t find a drag star that will fit the Core and allow for a swept handle. Any advice?

Re: Chronarch MGL grainy feeling
I got the Chronarch last april and it's been a gem since, but recently it's been acting up and feeling really grainy on the retrieve. I had the gears greased but the problem only went away for a very short period of time before returning. Has anyone else had this issue? Any update on this? I have t...
