Re: Uh oh! Shimano user turned trader!!!
Id deffinatly take a TDZ over a Metanium. And you've fished with how many Metanium Mg's? Oh yeah, ZERO! The New Metanium Mg will probably top every thing out there that is non-DC. Light weight reel, lightweight spool, over sized gears, big drag.. it's what long time Shimano users have been w...

From the review:
Great rods are built alike!Fig. 1 : This RoD Deflection Chart shows the deflection characteristics of two XFti rods against similarly rated rods in the GLoomis lineup. Note the strikingly similar curves.

Re: service for JDM reels
Excellent. Thank you for the info. Yes, my former reel guy will not work on JDM reels and I must confess that sorta turned me off to using him for any future maintenence or tuning. I don't own any JDM reels at this time, but I feel pretty certain that I'll be getting that low ratio zillion in the n...

Guys,
I need me a good worm rod. I like to fish 1/4 ounce tru tungeston weights and mostly moderate - large plastics.. 8" worms, lizards, so forth. And like a stiff rod if you know what i mean
I don't want a G Loomis nor do I want a Japanese rod. Lets hear ur suggestions.

Different spool designs. The SX has a long shaft where as the STX is a super free design. STX is best

Re: Major Craft Slicer
You can get a new MB Tomahawk Shiryu for probably under 400. Thatd be one hell of a way to start out imo. :D Megabass is old news. Why would he want to spend that much on a rod with no warranty and that breaks in half while just casting lures? =)))) I guess megabass and daiwa have you on their mark...

Re: G loomis technology
Sorry to be the one to break the news but the GLX is not the best out there. Guys on here spend thousands on JDM rods for a reason and have (still do) owned GLX rods. Even I have. Megabasses Evoluzion rods (like my Elseil) would out perform any GLX rod as well as almost any rod from UFM and Evergre...

Re: G loomis technology
Slick looking rod Captain Jack! Here is some food for thought: Loomis rods are a premium priced rod. (for premium performance too) But, they have been about the same price for the last 15 years. Factor in the price of inflation and GLoomis rods should be selling at over $450 for their highend offeri...

Gear grease.. what to use?
I want to give me reels a good cleaning and re-grease the drive and pinion gears. What suggestions are there for the type of grease to use for this? I am not a big fan of the hot sauce; just don't like the red dye in my reels. What else is out there that works good? Also- what is the best way to app...

Re: Megabass Kaede snapped in half! - Verdict is in... pg. 8
Sorry to hear about the loss of the rod, that really sucks. But let me ask you all this, could you ever think in your wildest dreams of a company like St Croix or G Loomis giving this type of response to a customer? It would not ever happen. Nuff said, Megabass is only interested in selling $30 lure...

Re: Anyone got the Metanium MG's yet?
some people here seem to think that drag strength (not drag performance) is what decides reel quality. Is this "Revo backlash"? I have found that tuning the drag for better strength and performance improves the quality of any reel. Don't you agree? :? Yup, just like those Pixizillas ur so fond of. ...
