Re: Dobyns Rods are IN STORES NOW!!!!
Dude, you told us it was gonna be days about a MONTH ago! =)))) Nonetheless, I got 2 ordered from HI'S today. BTW- I hope you guys aren't selling them at Tackle Warehouse they totally suck! I emailed them about 2 weeks ago and they said, back then, they should have them in any day. So, I give them a...

Why grease Carbontex washers?
I am getting ready to toss in some carbontex washers in a shimano reel. I am just curious as to why I would need to add some grease to them? Wouldn't the grease make them more likely to slip? The stock washers are not greased. Can someone explain to me why I should grease them?

Re: Daiwa Fuego or Shimano Chronarch 50 Mg?
Fuego won't throw a fluke worth a dime but makes a nice spinnerbait, buzzbait, rattletrap reel :) The MG50 will do much better with the Fluke and will handle the Senko just fine but isn't much of a buzzbait reel. I've got a alpha (japan SOL) and it will work well too. I prefer the MG50 over the alp...

Daiwa Fuego or Shimano Chronarch 50 Mg?
I am looking for a new reel to use for fishing senkos and flukes. I've got some experience with the 50Mg, but I am most concerned with the Fuego's ability to cast light lures. Which reel would be the best for this presentation?

Steez durability?
Steez owners- how is the finish of the baitcasting reel holding up? The surface seems really easy to scratch to me. I wish that it had a hard clear coat over it like the SOL.

Re: Import Tackle and replacement parts
The trouble with Quantum and a few others is that their proprietary reels and no one wants to service them. You can get parts directly from Quantum id think. JDM reels will use the same parts a lot of the time as its twin USD model. Some models are different though and JDM reels can have some diffe...

Re: Should Pro-Staffers Make Their Allegiance Known?
I just wanted to state that I have enjoyed reading all the responses so far. I didn't start this thread to bash or run any pro staffers off. I think that it is good to have their knowledge on the site and knowing who they are would help us all at directing questions about the gear they are using dir...

Should Pro-Staffers Make Their Allegiance Known?
Just what the topic says, should pro-staffers that post on this site make their status known? I've noticed a lot of them really push their "brands" whenever someone asks for input about rods, reels, line, lures, etc. I've noticed it a bit more in the rods and lures discussions the most. Almost seems...

Re: Reel recommendation
If you've got the money to burn then go with the steez combo, but for frog fishing it isn't needed at all IMO. You don't need an overly sensitive rod for fishing frogs. You see the bass take the lure, all you gotta do is wait a split second to feel the fish and set the hook. I'd go with a 7 foot or ...
