Re: **New set of MB offerings**
Like Teal, I've broken a few as well. Both Gary at The Tackle Trap and Catherine at Megabass were incredible to work with and I was amazed at how quickly I received replacements. Customer service at its finest!

Re: carrying spare baitcaster spools
You can fit 3 or 4 spools in a hard glasses case. Add some packing material and they won't move around. Works well for me.

Re: Goodbye Gander Mountain
Same here in Waukesha, WI. I went specifically to buy some Missile Baits Ike's mini flip jigs and they had raised the price from earlier in the year, so it looks like they were offsetting the 15% off.

Re: Best bottom contact rod for under 150$
timsford,
I haven't thrown any moving baits on it, just 1/4-1/2 oz jigs and t-rigs. It's a more moderate fast action and not a broomstick, so I would think that either the MH or H action would work for you. You might ask Gary, I'm sure he can better answer. Dan

Re: Best bottom contact rod for under 150$
Based on talking with Gary, I picked up the 6'9 H. I wanted something under 7' for close quarters pitching and this thing fits the bill perfect. Crazy light (3.4oz) and very good balance and sensitivity. Also didn't hurt that I got a couple in the 5lb range the first time I used it :) Very pleased, ...

Re: Preferred reels for distance
I have the Steez T-wing and have used 12-17lb flouro - no issues at all with uneven line wrap. I've only pitched with it with 1/4 to 1/2 oz jigs and trigs with it and it's awesome. Didn't have to adjust the reel for the different size line or jig. Best Steez by far and I've owned most of them. Dan

Re: Welcome back Japan Tackle!!
Years ago when I discovered Japan Tackle I thought I had gone to tackle heaven! I actually had the pleasure to talk with Jun on the phone to discuss a trade when he was still living in the states. Jun and Kayo are outstanding people.

Re: Phase 3 bearing down vs. X7 bearing down
As usual, Gary nailed it. I have both and last year fished the Phase III exclusively with jigs. In terms of action, power, sensitivity and comfort to fish with, I thought it was the best jig rod I've ever used. I used mainly 3/8 oz, some 1/4 and 1/2 and it handles them all well. Than over the winter...

Re: Need help "switching hands" (righty to lefty)
Personally, if I ever get to the point where I'm concerned about efficiency or how much time I'm wasting switching hands or whatever, I think I'll quit fishing and just go to work instead. Much less stressful...

They sent a brand new one. They apparently want the broken one returned so they can inspect the break, but never questioned how it broke.

Megabass Warranty Experience
There's a lot of horror stories out there about warranty experiences so I thought it was appropriate to tell about an amazing experience I just had with Megabass. Earlier this year I purchased a Phase 3 Bearing Down from Gary at the Tackle Trap . The best jig rod I've ever used and by far my favorit...

Re: Jig refresh
Ted (Cadman) is great to work with. I just ordered a bunch of jigs from him to tie myself so I don't go crazy over the long winter. I got some of the Owner Deep Throat hooks in the brush head style and man those things are sharp! Ted's communication is outstanding, prices are very good and he threw ...

Great Service from The Tackle Trap
Wanted to share a great experience I just had with Gary and Brian at The Tackle Trap. Last week I was talking with Gary about a rod and mentioned I needed to replace a part on one of my reels and wasn't sure that I could do it myself. Gary told me to send them the reel and he would order the part an...
