Re: First BFS Baits
I have a Megabass Eiger Northwall that I use for pond hopping and I found some lighter spinnerbaits that work well for me. My top choice being the Megabass V-Flat Power Bomb. It only weighs 6 grams but still gives you a decent size profile at the same time. Another good bait choice in my area for ri...

In the same boat myself. If you have a hard time trying to find some I used the Exthread last year and had no issues.

Optimum Double Diamond is super underrated but most of the time I throw a Keitech.

Looks like I’m going ‘12- might have to dress it up like you did- I feel it’s only right!

Re: '12 Aldebaran BFS vs '15 Aldebaran BFS Limited
Braid has no stretch, so it's less likely to damage a fragile spool. Mono and flouro both stretch, which compreses the spool. A few loops wont hurt, but the problem is when several loops are reeled onto the spool under a load, as happens when a fish hits at the end of a cast. This is what damages b...

Re: '12 Aldebaran BFS vs '15 Aldebaran BFS Limited
Been a while but, both are pretty decent reels. The 15 is better at the really light stuff. I view the 12 as more of a power BFS reel compared to todays offerings. Really depends on the price and the size lures. If you you plan on consistently theowing below 1/8oz total weight, Id opt for the 15. T...

'12 Aldebaran BFS vs '15 Aldebaran BFS Limited
Does anybody have experience with both of these reels and have one they prefer? I have an Eiger Northwall that needs a reel and upon searching for one these reels caught my eye. Given that there is a significant price difference between the 2 I wanted to get some insight before I spend some cash. I'...

Cortland Silent Flip
Has anybody tried this line out yet? The 16 carrier and their reputation for fly lines has me intrigued.

Re: Engetsu BB100PG
Mine is a 5.8:1. Micro mod gears too. Have you tried throwing any resistance baits with it? Or baits over 1/2 oz? Upon reading it looks like it was designed for micro-jigging so I'm worried about throwing mid-depth crankbaits with high resistance and generally weigh in at 1/2oz or 5/8 oz. It seems ...

Re: NRX 854c vs Megabass FMJ
The core 50s might not balance too well on those rods. I can't speak for the NRX but I know it won't be balanced on the FMJ. The FMJ needs a heavier reel to feel good. With the core 50 the FMJ will be very tip heavy. Appreciate the info but I’m not too worried about balance- I can always buy the bu...

NRX 854c vs Megabass FMJ
Found a killer deal on 2 Core 50mg7s so I'm in the market for a new jig rod- upon doing some research these 2 rods (and the 894) were mentioned A LOT. But I never really found a true comparison of the 2. I mainly throw 1/2oz jigs and mainly stick to 1ft-15ft but will occasionally fish bluff banks as...
