Re: Edge Rods - Is this legit?
I'd jump all over this if they used better guides.

Re: Edge EFX First Strike
The first picture with a foregrip us definitely not a spinning rod, but it could be a preproduction build. Not sure that Minima Titanium guides would have been my first choice. Alconite Stainless Ks cost about the same. DaveJ If these rods had Fuji K series guides I'd be all over them. The Minima g...

Re: Edge EFX First Strike
Dan. You could be correct. I'm not sure. Can anyone clarify on this? Are the Kistler blanks not the same as the blanks you can purchase to build on? I believe that to be the case. The Kistler blanks are made to Kistler specs by NFC. They're not "off-the-shelf" NFC blanks. These EFX rods are intrigu...

Re: Why not kistler?
I've got 4 Z-Bones, 3 of which are customs. I've not had any problems and they're a dream to fish with. Kistler definitely has a shaky past, but their new stuff is killer.

Re: switching from dobyns to kistler?
I switched from DX rods over to Z Bones for my bottom contact baits and I've been very happy. I had a DX703, DX743 and DX744 and switched to all custom Z Bones. If you wait for a sale you can get the custom Z Bones for slightly more than the Extremes retail for. The builds are really great and the ...

Re: Daiwa SS SV Vs. Daiwa TDZ
I've picked up several Steez EX reels online for less than the SS SV is going for. I'd strongly consider that before I grabbed the SS SV at retail pricing. You can always add the SV spool if needed and it appears there will be a new SV spool introduced sometime soon. Used or new? I can get a SS SV ...

Re: New Zillion - We want info!
What's so great about the TWS? I really don't get it. I own a T3 Ballistic and the sole reason why I got it was because it had the mag3D braking. I can't afford a Z so the T3 was a great option. The TWS doesn't really make the reel cast any further. I forget the percentage but it was so minute it's...

So... the new Zillion is a Tatula Type R with a nicer clutch? Color me disappointed.

Re: Phenix at ICast
I hope it's a minimalist build with micro guides and without an ACS. I'd almost have to buy one if it is.
I also hope it's tastefully done like the Recon 2. All of their other rods are gaudy. Mixing EVA, cork and compressed cork on the same rod is AWFUL.

Re: megabass orochi xx vs orochi x4
I've had a couple of the X4 rods and I actually didn't care that much for them. My EMTF XX is a keeper though It really comes down to personal preference and intended application.

Re: Who is the sensitivity king for 2014?
Out of all the rods I've fished the Kistler Z Bone ranks #1 in sensitivity. I have 3 customs and they're all killer. I've fished Dobyns DX, Loomis GLX and Megabass X4 and Orochi XX and I think it easily bests them all. The NFC blanks are really special.

Re: In your opinion: What's the best reel made by Daiwa toda
I'd have to vote for the Steez (any iteration). I love the Zillion, but it's not as comfy over an entire day of fishing as the Steez. The Steez is like a Zillion packed in a smaller, lighter package.

Re: weight of mb extreme mission
Probably a wise idea. The hook keeper is the only thing I don't like about the EMTF. I hate the placement, as my braid likes to get caught in the hook keeper after a cast. Mine is almost ready to break off too.cndbasshunter wrote:I cut all the hook keepers and just use fuji's.
