Just wondering, so many folks visited ICAST and no one could ask or measure those spools, and see if they could fit to old Zillions.
And it's funny how Daiwa still can't answer these questions.

Re: Daiwa SLP WORKS Ceramic BB's
Tnx a lot guys! Right now those bearings are soaking in acetone. I'll try a brake part cleaner next time. And still a question, about the bearing slows down some, you know it has made it inside. I have a set of bearings Brand A price 30USD a set of bearings Brand B price 25USD a set of bearings Bran...

Re: Daiwa SLP WORKS Ceramic BB's
If I leave it as it is, it still possible to completely wash oil and clean from oil the BB in acetone on those type of bearings?
It is doable to add some oil into the gap of protective shields.

If it's worth it, can you guys specify what would be a distance increase with Air Ceramics?

Re: Daiwa SLP WORKS Ceramic BB's
The bearing on the left looks like it has non-serviceable shields that are sort of crimped in place. The one on the right *might* have removable shields but it's hard to tell from the picture. No, it doesn't, same bearing as Steez has. In that case both bearings are non-serviceable.What is strange,...

Daiwa SLP WORKS Ceramic BB's
Just received another package from Japan. Ordered some new hybrid BB to try Daiwa SLPW ceramic BB kit, third bearings kit from top. (Note: picture on the link for that hybrid kit is not correct, please look at the picture I provided below, this is how bearings actually look) Here is the link from SL...

1. Many folks don't know about that option.Hogsticker2 wrote: Though I still can't figure out why anyone would want to order the 105 when they can save 70 bucks and get the Alphas SV.
2. Warranty insurance for some folks who knows about the price difference.

Re: Certate (Blue) Line Roller
I own same reel Daiwa - Certate 3000, and had similar issues. You can take that bearing out, just remove the clip holding bb in the line roller with sharp needle, or an offset hook. Most likely you have a bb issue. I replaced mine one time from Daiwa US, got similar issues very quickly. Later ordere...

Re: 2 piece vs 1 piece rod
I recalled we done some blind testing ( folks didn't know what they handle) long time ago with Avids 1 ps vs 2 ps
It was same spinning model which would come in both options, I think it was 70mf and 70mf2.
Same reels, same line (10lb braid), same jig. No one could notice a difference in sensitivity.

Re: Fluorocarbon for poppers :)
I fish topwaters with fluocarbon all the time, since I don't have a combo just for topwaters. And it is doable, if you consistently retrieve your bait without making any pauses, in that case fluorocarbon doesn't have time to sink. I caught a lot of fish that way, switching jig to popper or walker ty...

Re: Daiwa Tatula HLC
Just received another JDM reel from Japan. Looking cool Tatula with tuned HLC spool and Magforce Z-LD (Long Distance) braking system. First Tatula I ever bought, decided to go with that model, spool itself cost 10000yen Going to see this weekend how that Hyper Long Cast works :) Reel weight (with sp...
