Re: Alphas R Question
Negative on the line, it can sit for two weeks and there is no difference. I'm not getting any birds nests per say. The line will become very loose and if not corrected it would lead to a birds nest and problems casting. I am also starting to think there may be a small issue with the brakes. I at a ...

Re: what swim bait head are you using?
Follow up to the jighead question is what baits are you guys finding the most success with? Asking because I am just now starting to throw them and with very little success of late.

Re: Alphas R Question
The last set up I have on it is 10lb mono and a 3/8oz wooden prop bait. Ii also has done it with 12 lb fluro and a small jig. Its like the line is moving on casts faster then the spool or something.

Re: Alphas R Question
I'm assuming you are talking about the knot where the line is tied onto the spool? I can try it but I m not so sure that would solve the problem. The last line I spooled on a made sure the knot was cinched tight. Then when I spooled it made sure there was a lot of tension on the line when spooling. ...

Alphas R Question
I have a virtually brand new R and I'm having some issues with it. No matter what line I use it will eventually get very loose on the spool. I have messed with the braking system and it still happens. The reel is pretty much unusable at this point. Any suggestions??

Broken Rod Streaks
Anyone else go through streaks of breaking rods? Seems like it happens in threes within a very short time. First one was one hook set, second was while reeling a 2lb fish in, and the last one was my fault, rod got caught under the cleat/rope retracter on my BCB and I lifted it up. By the time I real...

Reel Boxes
Am I one of the few that save my reel boxes for reels that I use? I'm not talking about shelf queens but daily reels. Started to go through one of my closets and was amazed on how many boxes I still have. I also found a lot of MB 110 straight eye boxes, not sure why I keep this stuff.

Re: What piece of cheap or tackle gear do you use and love?
I have the old black and orange Daiwa Black Widow II 2000 spinning reel that I love. Smooth and consistent. I never see this model for sale on any auction or fishing sites. I came with extra free spools instead of one so I also lucked out on that.
