Re: 2023 Steez “Real Control” Rods

The RC 7'3" H looked interesting, especially with Fujita calling it the "maniac's rod", but it's long for me (kayak). I ended up looking at the 6'10" Medium Fast Casting 85g 3/16 - 3/4oz which Fujita mentions using for jerkbaits, poppers, squarebills, and some spinnerbaits (smaller I'm assuming). I...

Re: Backlash Japan

reputable but I don't buy much from them. I recently got a rod from them and it went well. They itemized everything which is a good thing.

Re: Texas vs Jika Rig?

I think the benefit of the Jika Rig is multiple pivot points vs the single pivot point of the Texas Rig.

Re: Product News

How you finding the durability on them to be? As a terminal nerd with mild ocd I'm always looking for better ways to organize. I can only go by first impressions, as it's been one trip on the boat. I didn't stand on it or anything like that but the outer box is quite sturdy but the plastic window t...

The large has hooks and weights of various forms. This one is for finesse jigs. They also have another without dividers, a bulk box.
Large is: 160mm x 95mm x 47mm
X L is: 200mm x 115mm x 50mm

Re: What's the most you would pay for a used rod?

I put mine up on group ASKING for $225 shipped in the US. I would probably keep it if it were 6'8" or a bit more. My local pond is clear with very little combat casting.
The only issue is a dirty handle. If it bothers somebody they can clean it. I think the cork is quite good.

Re: What's the most you would pay for a used rod?

I saw a rod on frakebrooch group for over $400. The rod was introduced in about 2005 by one of the Big 5 JDM rod companies. It appears to be in excellent condition. Not for investment purposes or antique value but to actually fish with. Just curiosity. Thanks What is the specific rod and someone ca...

Re: Tackle Storage - In house VS garage

Rods and reels stay in the garage on the boat 98% of the time.

Lures, lines related stuff, in the house 98% of the time.

Re: Returning JDM Issues

First time I'm hearing about JDM retailer who's willing to provide a return shipping label (or equivalent offer in this case). Would you mind sharing their name? Sounds like someone I'd like to do business with. On a related note, they may be able to simply reimburse you for the return shipping, as...

Re: Evergreen Spider Spin

The new grip is wicked. With 3 fingers in front of the reel foot my pointer finger rests perfectly on the front metal pipe that acts as a resonator. Very clever design and fit. This is how I hold a spinning rod (and apparently how Imae must too) but your mileage may vary. Reel size is a personal pr...

Re: Evergreen Spider Spin

That rod has been around for a long time, almost 20 years. I went with the Spin Cobra at the time. Had I known, I would have picked up a Spider Spin
