Re: Cranking Recommendations

Sunline Defier. For me it has been the best performing line for moving baits (cranks, top water, spinner baits, etc).

Re: Which Reel?!

I have the 200 and 100 size. If the Calais is a bit big the 200 will be a bit big.

I have small hands and can palm the 100 Calcutta / Conquest with no problems.

You will like the Conquest 100. (IMO it is a better reel than the Calais). But I like the round Shimano's.

Re: How do you spell B U M M E R ?

ROG,

Sorry that happened. I am not sure what the law is their, Buttttttt!

Down here in Texas messing with a Man's fishing equipment is like stealing a horse. You can get hung. All you have to do is tell the Judge he needed killing. Case closed.

Re: Jig storage

I looked at one of the Jig boxes when they came out and decided to stick with the plano 3700 box's.

Re: change bearing for calcutta

You can change the 100 & 200 with no problems. With the 50 you need to change the one on the spool behind the spool pin. That can be a problem without a pin tool.

Re: Bearing size help

Doug,

Their are 2 bearings on the spool that mater on a TD-Z. One on the spool (5x11x4) and one in the palm side held in with a clip (3x8x4).

PM me the reels you want to know the bearing sizes and I will see what I can do to help.

Re: Your favorite fishiing combo?

The combo that Mhood has is an absolutely lovely setup if you want to catch the fish from the 100 gal tank in my library.

It is a nice set up, just not what I would call a bass rod. The reel is great (I worked on it). :D

Re: Hot Sauce harms Shimano reels?

You guys are getting your panties in a wad for nothing. Hot sauce will not hurt your reels. I have reels with hot sauce in them since hot sauce came out and they are just fine. Until Shimano comes out in writing that hot sauce is bad and harmful and will cause cancer and make your first born limp, t...

Re: Your favorite fishiing combo?

Tuned Conquest 50 on a Dobyns 684C rod (one heck of a worm/jig combo).

Re: Kistler Mg vs. Dobyns Champion

GO, I agree with what AmericanSkin said. Both the Kistler Mg and the Dobyns rods are fine tools. I have fished both also. I use my 703C for Senkos and T/rigs. The 703C has a small balance weight in the butt section for balance. To me it makes for a more comfortable fishing stick. I have less strain ...

Re: Hot Sauce harms Shimano reels?

I have to agree with a lot of what GO said. I have used Hot Sauce for years. I have Shimano reels that has hot Sauce in them for years. Until it hits CNN as a top story, and my reels start sounding like a 49 Dodge Truck I will continue using it. If Shimano or any other company has proof that Hot Sau...
