Pretty much all of the Expride B models are fast or extra fast actions. The parabolic rods will be the cranking rods and will have the G in the model number. These will be the closest to what you had since the Cumara Reaction rods were all moving bait type rods (cranks, jerkbaits, spinnerbait, etc)....

I was able to confirm the changes are Silent Tune and new MGL III spool. The frame and side plates are the same. So better casting performance overall will be the major difference.

Is there line on the spool? Put your thumb on the spool to give a little load and see if the noise is still there. The GT version had the shallow drilled spool, holes in the frame to reduce some weight and 4 bearings in the handle. The regular TE had a deep spool and bushings in the handle knobs. Slight performance upgrade and a slightly higher cost when they were available.

It looks like the side plate was on the loose end for tolerance for sure, or the bearing has been pressed in and out way too many times creating excessive wear. I think I could have found a tighter fitting bearing to work, but glad you were able to find a cheap side plate for it.
